Well 2011 looks to be one of the best years for gaming. I own an 360, PS3, PC. So I am in for quite a ride.
This past year saw some damn fine games. Mass Effect 2 is THE BEST game of all time. Beating out the 10 year champion Ocarina of time for me. If you only own a PS3 you will get to see mass effect 3! Assassins Creed Brotherhood came out this year (yet to play it), sequel to the third best game ever Assassins creed 2.
As good as this year was it is no match for what it in sore for us next year!
Mass Effect 3 (final chapter to this game)
Assassins Creed 3 (final chapter to this game)
Killzone 3 (WOOT!!)
Crysis 2 (looks sick, gotta love the graphics if you have a high end rig like I do)EDIT Crysis 2 looks like shit PC gaming is dead. F U CRYTEK! My graphics card=useless. Crysis 2 is a shitty console port!
F.E.A.R. 2
Gears Of War 3
Little Big Planet 2
Holey schnikey! What a rush next year will be!!

Also, recently announced... Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim! Throw that in with those final chapters for Mass Effect and Assassins Creed and it's a great year.

Yea Don, I personally really enjoyed Splinter Cell Conviction (parts of it reminded me of Bourne, I dont know why). All great titles
And how could I have forgotten that title Haynie. I rejoyed the mega bytes out of Elder Scrolls IV. The insane thing is that those 3 titles will come out at the same time. Kind of mind blowing!

I finally beat Elder Scrolls Oblivion earlier this year - I didn't know there was a new one coming out. I will own that on the day of the release!

IT takes forever to beat that game Zac. I mean there is too much to do in it! I did not complete everythin gin it, but the game has the potential for one to clock over 100 hours!

Oh well over 100 hours - I know this because I clocked probably twice that much in the 3 years-ish I spent playing it off and on.
I don't like to rush through games, myself. Especially sandbox-style games like Grand Theft Auto or Elder Scrolls, Fallout, etc. With those games, I like to take my time and learn some of the minor nuances of the game. On Elder Scrolls, for example, you can collect all the little plants/flowers/etc and for the most part they weigh 0.1 and they're worth 1-2 gold a piece. That's a 10-20 gold ratio per "pound" of weight. Some of them are more. So sometimes I'd just walk around and collect the plants (and kill/loot enemies along the way) to build up my gold.
Before I knew it, an hour or two had passed and all I've done is collect plants and kill random forest monsters. lol

Fallout 3 one of the best 100+ clock games ever made. Borderlands is another one of my Favs.

Yea, I fund that pretty funny when I did it. Sometimes I just would walk from 1 place to another, just to see nature. Yea, huge games!
Bethesda makes som eof the longest game ever. As you said Adam, Fallout 3 is 100+ hours, Oblivion is 100+ hours. Pretty sure Fallout New Vegas is 100+ hours (have not played it but want to). THis new one will no doubt be 100+ hours. With these games you really get your moneys worth out of them!

I personally like Online games more than the actual games now... the idea to compete and test yourself against other players excites me more than the actual game. Its rare that I like a 100+ hour game I eventually get bored even with the ones that I like I love Assassins creed and GTA but I've only have finished GTA twice and Assassins creed one.
I like the rest like to do every side mision but eventually I get bored doing the sides misions so I get bored of the game
