OK we have our nominations in. Now who gets the MVP for this week?

As I said in the nominations thread...

As much as Roy made me smile, I'm actually tossing the gameball to the offensive line. Romo had great protection all day and we had the best day rushing thus far. Our offense was able to sustain drives and keep the field position in our favor to take pressure off the defense.

To add to that, Mario Williams had four sacks in his first two games and NONE against us. You could almost give MVP to whoever it was that shut him down, but the entire line deserves credit because it's easy to key on one guy and then let the others break through.

I am going with Romo.. yes the line did very well but Romo stepped up into the pocket several times to keep the play alive and was on target in this game..

Tips hat to Roy Williams for the work he did.. I did want to mention no the two TD's he had.. you could see how excited the rest of the team was for him. I think all this negative crap comes from us and the media.

IMO, the offensive line finally caught its groove yesterday, but with all the talent that our line is supposed to have, I expect them to have that good of a game almost every week. Still saw our RBs getting hit in the backfield a lot more than they should have, but it is nice to see the O-line playing decent at least.

That said, I still think it's got to be Roy Williams. Like I said in a couple other threads, this guy has been a class act all along. He has taken the criticism in stride and all he's ever said was that he was going to work harder this offseason and try to make a bigger impact. He said he was going to cut his drops in half. Most of the fans laughed at him, and he even had hecklers taunting him at training camp.

That kind of reputation is hard to come back from. When 75% of your team's fans hate you and want you gone, it adds a lot of unnecessary pressure. IMO, our fan base killed off guys like Roy L. Williams and Julius Jones that way. Roy has played well all season long in the limited amount of times Tony Romo threw the ball his way. And yesterday, he proved that he deserves more looks.

You can say he was lucky that the Texans were double-teaming Miles Austin, and maybe that's right. But for a guy who dropped about 1/3 of the balls thrown to him last year, he has come a long way regardless. The difference between September of last year and September of this year is like night and day for this guy.

... and that's why my vote goes for Roy Williams. lol

What a difference a year makes huh? Roy Williams is just catching everything thrown his way.

To be fair to Roy since nobody would listen earlier in the offseason, he was never known for dropping passes while he was in Detroit. I think he and Romo are finally starting to figure each other out... and I don't think it's a coincidence that Roy had a great game when Romo was throwing him perfectly catchable balls (with the exception of one) all day.

Romo gets the vote. Nice passing day except for the one almost INT.

Free and Columbo definitely deserve props.

Although there was some coverage lapse where Brooking is concerned, I think the entire DEFENSIVE UNIT get my nod.

Yes Foster got 106 yards. But he was the first 100 yard rusher against this defense in over a year.

But, that not withstanding....The Dallas Defense held the NFL's #1 RATED OFFENSE to just two field goals through 3 quarters. And they did it in the Texans home field.

In fact, the only TD the Texans offense scored was during "garbage time" in the last 3 minutes of the game when the outcome was inevitable. And The Dallas Defense was playing thier second stringers late in the 4th and that was who the TD was scored on. Notice that Barry Church got an INT?

So the Dallas Defense is my MVP.

Funny... I feel the same way about Roy Williams.

haha... hey now if Roy put down 2 touchdowns and 117 yards every week, that'd be 1,872 yards and 32 touchdowns over the course of a season. I think that's worth about double the ~$9 mil he gets paid now.

Teams pay $9 mil for a receiver who gets about 1,200 yards and 8 touchdowns per season... that equals out to 75 yards per game and a TD every other game.

That's why I say the offensive line had a solid game, but Roy Williams had an exceptional game.

Based on recent posting I would have voted for Joe DeCamillis
