Here are the shows I currently watch.

1. Lie To Me (This show is OK and currently in offseason mode. It is entertaining enough to watch for me to kill time.)

2. Bones (This is on my "Can't miss a single Episode" List. I just Love this Show. they have the perfect blend of cast and this show cracks me up a lot of the time. Oh that and I am in lust with Angela who plays Bones best friend on the show. LOL)

3. Fringe (This is my second show that makes my Can't miss list. I just love the spin they give each week on this show. The Special Effects are really done well for a TV show IMO. I just really really like this show.)

4. FlashForward (I just Loved the pilot of this show. It just pulled me in big time. As I have followed along it has gotten slow in some Episodes. Kind of like leaving me with the feeling of wanting more from it. More action and less Drama and talk. But when the show came back after it's first season break it got back on track with action for me. It got me really interested once again. It picked up the pace and now I find myself wanting for the next weeks Episode to hurry up and get here.)

5. Legend Of The Seeker (If you like Dungeons & Dragons type of Shows you'll like this one. We are in to Season 2 now and it is still really good IMO. It is the Xena of 2010. Wizards who cast impressive spells. REALLY HOT HOT Girls kicking some major ass fighting in Red & black skin tight leather clothes. Yummy! Lots of action in this show from Episode to Episode. Great for good Sunday entertainment in my Book.)

6. Heroes (This show is OK to me. I liked it better when it was in it's early existence. Now it gets a bit crazy and stale from time to time. But I watch it on Hulu and catch back up when there is nothing else on and I am all caught up with my Favorite Shows. What keeps me coming back??? Well Ali Larter & Hayden Panettiere. I do enjoy seeing all the Super Powers each Character has and how they (The Writers) keep evolving those powers.)

7. Trauma (This is my Replacement for the old and stale as hell ER show that is still on TV. I mean ER does not even have hardly any of the original cast on the show anymore. That should have been a big hint that it was time to wrap that show up. Put that poor over done show out of it's misery already. In comes Trauma. My new badass Medical Drama show. This show kicks ER to the side. This is ER on RedBull. Out of control and off the hook. The Life of Paramedics seen through the eyes of a retied real life Paramedic. So the show is totally believable. Takes you out of the Hospital and out on to the streets where most real life emergencies really happen. If you like well done Medical shows that do not spend 80% of it's air time on drama Love and relationship crap then do yourself a favor and check out Trauma. It is on Hulu or CastTV.)

8. "V" (Was not real sure if I was going to like this show or not. I did not get in to the Original "V" TV Show back in the day. It was really dumb to me. But the 2010 version of "V" is really really good. It is kind of like X-Files meets Alien Nation but with Hotter woman in it and great Special Effects. But be warned...If you have a phobia for Lizards...you might want to avoid this one. LMAO)

9. Numb8rs (This show has been on for 6 seasons now. It is currently in Offseason mode. I have not missed one single Episode...Yeah it is that good to me. An FBI special agent (Don Eppes) in Los Angeles teams with his mathematical genius brother (Charlie Eppes) to solve crimes. Don, a veteran investigator, relies on hard facts and evidence to catch crooks, while his younger brother Charlie, a brilliant university professor, analyzes mathematical equations and statistics to provide case clues. Also never get tired of looking at Amita Who plays Charlies just married and new Wife on the show. She is Hot as hell and very erotic. Her real Life name is Navi Rawat.)

10. Lost ( Man this is one of the all time greats to ever hit TV IMO. Just like Prison Break was for me. Hated to see Prison Break finally end. If you have not been following along with Lost let me tell you that you have missed a great great Series. It is available from the beginning for rent and instant watch on NetFlicks. Or you can see all the Episodes on CastTV and current Season 6 on Hulu. Season 6 is the last year it is on. They are wrapping it up and tying it all together now. This a Deep Deep thinking show. The Writers just have to be on something really good when coming up with ideas for this show. LOL This is one that I just don't want to see end.)

So there is my List that I watch. Share yours if you will. That way we can all compare. We can discuss Episodes with each other after they have been aired. I know Haynie & Don watch some of the Shows that I watch. It is always nice to pick their brain about shows and see how they interpret them. Sometimes it is just how I see it. Sometimes they bring a different idea to the meaning of the show that I never thought of. That is what this thread is for. Share and recommend shows and discuss them after they are over with.

Have fun and look forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Don...Lie To Me took a while for me to really get in to it. I stuck with it and really like it now. It amazes me the thought of being able to really read people and know when they are full of crap. I love it when they catch people in a Lie and pop up real life Political people or past famous liars in the news to fit the Lie on the show. Like they have done it with Bill Clinton and even Obama. I love it when they do that. LMAO. Can't wait for it to come back.

To bad you never got in to Bones. I guess it is not for everyone. But I love the Show.

Fringe I knew you never really cared for. Funny thing about you bringing up X-Files. I hated X-Files and never understood why so many people loved that show. But to me Fringe is way better than X-Files. If it was anything like X-Files or it reminded me of it I would not watch it. Funny how different people see things different ways huh? LOL

You and I agree on FlashForward Don. I mean I am still watching it but it does get lost in certain Episodes. If it truly does not come back I blame it on the writers. They screwed up. They launched the show with one hell of a Pilot Show for the opening of the show and never was able to match the intensity of that opening show. It is like they have been chasing that excitment ever since. There was a while there where it drug on so slow from week to week that I almost said the heck with it. But like you & I already said. it came back better in the second half of the season. If it does get cancelled I hope they at least wrap it up to where it does not leave us hanging.

Man Don you need to watch Legend Of the Seeker. Use your Torrents or CastTV or whatever you use to go back and watch Season 1. Then get about half way through the second season and then you can keep up with it on Hulu. BUT you have to like Wizards and Hot Women and lots of kick ass sword fighting to like the show. You should give it a try. If you do come back and tell me what you think.

Totally agree with you on Trauma. It is new but balls to the wall sick stuff and non-stop action with a very well write story line. I just LOVE Rabbit and his Hot Mamacita who drives the Helicopter. Trauma is everything ER wishes it was but fails miserably.

What I'm Watching Now (dramas)

LOST - Loving every minute and sorry that it'll be out of my life in less than a month. No other show generates more speculation and conversation. When you spend more time thinking/talking about a show than you spend watching it, then you know it's something good. I love what's happening right now with Jack and how he's stepping into the role of the savior he always wanted to be, but just had to stop trying so hard to be.

The Good Wife - I think this is one of the best shows on TV. Marguiles is incredible and the supporting cast is also great. The early episodes were great but did have the negative of introducing and wrapping up conflicts within that particular show. But now that her husband's back there are a lot more ongoing plotlines and the show is really blossoming into its full potential.

V - It's getting better every week. I really like this mercenary character that they recruited to help train the Resistance and I love the job Morris Chestnut is doing. This new question about Tyler's father is also interesting, particularly since the mother is swearing so vehemently that it's not true. You have to wonder where that's going.

FlashForward - This show is also good, but it did a bad job of introducing too many character stories at the beginning. I really don't give a crap about the doctor with cancer and his Asian "soul mate." At the same time, I really want for them to get back to the father with the solider daughter who's gone off to be One Man Army in Iraq to try and find her. I also thought having the lesbian FBI girl as a mole was a bit of a stretch, but I'm used to that after years of watching "24." Overall it's still good, and this last episode was a big moment with the resolution of Demetri's "you're gonna die" story and Dyson Frost.

Merlin - Lastly, I've been watching the second season of Merlin now that SyFy picked it up. I really enjoyed the first season on NBC and am so glad that somebody decided to keep it going. It started a little juvenile but is getting darker as the characters mature. They do a nice job with the special effects and the core four of Merlin, Arthur, Guinevere, and Morgana all do really good. I recommend this to anyone who likes fantasy.

What I'm Watching Now (comedy)

Modern Family - The best comedy on TV, without question. It's a lot like the early days of The Office in terms of the quick wit and having no weak spots in the cast.

The Office - Speaking of... still enjoying this show but wouldn't be too upset at this point if they pulled the plug. It's become very predictable and really has nowhere else to go. Now that Jim, Dwight, Pam, and even Andy are all becoming movie stars, I can't imagine it'll last beyond one more season.

Community - This is my second-fav comedy now after Modern Fam. It's very smart and I love all of the parodies they do of other TV/movie genres. This last episode with the Chicken Finger Mafia ("Goodfellas" parody) was great.

What I'm Watching Now (reality/gameshow)

Survivor - Just when I thought this show was a goner, the last two season have really brought me back. I figured this current season with all of the "veterans" would be bad, but it's actually been one of the best ever. Hopefully they can keep the momentum going, because my entire family watches this show and loves talking about it. We even have a fantasy league.

The Amazing Race - This is only the second season of TAR that I've watched. I really enjoy it and love seeing some of the exotic places they get to go. I also like how fair this show is in terms of setting up challenges that generally don't favor a particular type of person. As long as you're in decent physical shape, you can compete on this show with anyone.

The Biggest Loser - I don't like this as much as I used to, but it's still fun to watch. I DVR the show and fast-forward about 2/3 of it, watching only the challenges and the weigh-ins. It is amazing to watch the transformations that take place on some of these fatties.

Looking Forward to Their Return

Mad Men - My favorite TV show now and possibly of all-time (tied with Sopranos). If Shakespeare were a TV writer, this would be his product. It's full of the tragic heroes, subtle comedy, and endless social commentary that his works were filled with.

Friday Night Lights - I don't have DirectTV so I'm waiting for NBC to re-air the new season. So far I've heard some great things about it. One person told me it was better than the first. If that's true, then it may be the best thing on TV.

Thoughts on Other Shows

Justified - I've recorded every episode and am waiting for a lazy day to just plow through them. I've heard nothing but good things so I'm excited. Are any of you watching this?

Damages - Love the last season and am PISSED that it's probably not coming back. How do so many crap shows stay on the air but something as epic as Damages not get renewed? Blows my mind.

Legend of the Seeker - Watched the first few episodes because I've read the "Sword of Truth" novels by Terry Goodkind that this show is based on. I couldn't really enjoy it because it felt like a bad, rushed version of a story I already knew. The acting was a little rough, also. I could see liking it if I'd never read the books, but just couldn't get behind it.

CowboyzAdam
04-27-2010, 01:22 AM
Yeah Haynie I just started watching Justified. So far I think it is pretty good. Kind of like the Old Wild Wild West meets and takes on the mob and mafia of the big city life. Show downs at high noon in the streets of the Big City is hilarious. It is not so much meant to be funny but Ironically it really is and done really really well. Haynie I think you will like it.

Haynie I too have started watching the second Season of Merlin. Saw all of the first season on CastTV. Now that the Characters have grown some you are right Haynie...It is starting to get darker and more intense. Loved that Morgana Has Her own secrets that only the good Doctor and Merlin know about...except for the Druids of course. Love Her secret hatred for Uthuar too. I think it is just a really good show and love the fact that a nerdy young man plays the baddest ass that no one knows about because it must be kept secret until the time is right to reveal it all.

It cracks me up how Arthur treats Merlin like an idiot but truly cares for him a lot. If Arthur only knew the truth eh???

I have never seen one Episode of this show. I have seen the name of the show here and there but figured it was a Girl show with that name for the show. What Season are they on and please give me a brief run down on what the show is about. Must not be a girl show if Haynie watches it right Haynie?

Haynie

Must not be a girl show if Haynie watches it right Haynie?

I wouldn't say it's a "girl show" as you so maturely put it, Adam. ;)

The premise is that a high-powered district attorney is sent to jail on corruption charges and his wife (Marguiles) has to go back to work as an attorney after years of being a full-time mother. The episodes are a blend of the cases being handled by her firm and the problems she's facing personally dealing with the backlash of her husband's actions.

I gave it a chance because I love Marguiles (remember when she was on "Sopranos" as Christopher's goomah? *sighs*) and anything that has to do with the legal world. I was worried that it would be too feminine, but I think it does pretty well despite having a female as the lead character. They do a good job of keeping it balanced and enjoyable for a diverse audience.

Are you serous Dog? Why? Where did you hear this? Man that sucks big time. They could have at least let the season finish itself out for crying out loud. I mean it was not my all time favorite show but I did enjoy it. Well I guess I will just have to turn to Merlin the rest of the way now...until they cancel that one too.

Thanks for the heads up Buddy. Man my father is going to be pissed off at this news. He is the one that got me watching it.

Haynie the feminine part is what i was meaning by a Girl show. Shows like what my Wife watches. Like Ghost Whisperer and stuff like that. What season are they on haynie? If I am not to far behind maybe I can catch up off of CastTV.

Awful predictable episode of Trauma yesterday great way to screw a fucking good show... Why writers or produces have to make every freakign show a stupid Soap Opera where everyone ends up cheating and screwing up with each other why don't keep the story line?....

This show has so much dept and ways to go to keep falling in the same stupid Soap dramas.

Man don't tell me Don. I have not seen this weeks Episode yet. I Love Trauma. They messed it up? Let me guess. Rabbit gets cheated on by Nancy who finally ends up boning Her Partner Glenn. So then that means Glen ends up Cheating on his Doctor Girlfriend at the same time who I can't remember Her name. If I'm right about this then I saw it coming. Lets just say it was a gut feeling. There have been hints for some time now here & there. But I had hoped the writers would not go there with the show.

Yeah if that is what happens then you are right...It turned in to a soap opera. I hope they will get back to the nuts & Bolts of the show next week then. I DO NOT want it to turn in to another freaking ER...LAME!!!

hey guys isn't it this year the weirdest year in series hiatus... I know the winter Olympics had something to do with some show having to wait longer for their return but since it has been over it's not like every series is back at full a lot are up for two weeks then we don't see any new shows for 2 or 3 weeks...

Take all the sitcoms for example... I haven't seen a new show of Parks and The office in a while.... Big ban is another, Community finally came back last week... How I met your mother was back on track and this Monday we didn't get a new episode, same with Castle.....

Well hopefully it will get back on track. I am glad the Kid Glenn backed away though. It could be worse. It could be Taylor (The Gay Paramedic) tries to kiss his Partner instead. Aw man that would be just awful. If that happened I would turn it off and never watch again. LMAO.

Well I am pissed if they don't bring it back. But the show is called Trauma and not Lovers after all. But damn man...that is 2 shows gone on me in 24 hours. Give me a break already. At least let the stupid writers have a chance to redeem themselves. BTW I just got done watching the show. It was cheesy for sure. The whole show was about nothing but the dumb call center being down and sending the Paramedics running around everywhere and making them late to calls. The rest of the show was about Nancy and Her screwed up head having a nervous break down getting drunk.

And Rabbits Helicopter Pilot Marisa (Hot as hell mind you) watching her X who is town smashing Bums heads in. Hardly any Trauma cases at all. So yeah...it was Lame.

Also, I have gotten into Parenthood. Its a nice little comedy-drama that I got hooked on after i saw some episodes. I missed a lot of the early ones including the pilot but caught some other ones and it was really good, so Ive been a faithful watcher now.

Haynie, Justified is kind of ridiculous. I HATE Timothy Olyphant(?) he is a terrible actor. The first one was really dumb, but I have to admit I sort of enjoyed the 2ne episode. I havent watched anymore though, cuz I have to hop on Hulu for them.

Im right there with you guys on the other shows...
Lost is at its best right now, they're not just throwing in crap to keep it going, its finally moving somewhere.

The Office is good for a laugh here or there but not the same it used to be. Some episodes are on it like it used to be, some are off.

Parks and Recreation got really funny, it has more jokes like the Office used to have.

Modern Family is #1 for me. I think its only season 1? But they already have a hit. Good for laughs throughout and some stuff just reminds me of my family haha.

Southpark does a great job of staying relevant and in their humor they are so smart with how they present these real issues and how they make a mockery out of them.

Family Guy is getting stale, it used to be the funniest show on TV but its just getting repetitive and stupid most of the time.

Ok I have to say that Last night Community episode was the best one ever and one of my favorite episode all time in every series... The way they mock movies and make it into a plot it's just waaay to funny... best part when the roller blades come chanting .... Warriors!!! come out and plaaaaay!!! if you're old enough you know this line and the movie one of the best gang movies ever!!!... couldn't stop laughing when I heard the line.

Also don't you know how much fun would had been to fill the whole set with paint... and one question to the real paintball fans are those type of guns actually real like they use reagular paintball?....

What I thought was really funny is that they make u look like the shoot everyone in close range and all when actually getting hit by a paint ball HURTS AS HELL!!!!

Ok enough about that episode if you haven't seen t go watch it WORTH IT.

Also this week we had solid episodes from Modern Family, Parks and Recreation, the office and big bang theory.

On a side note HOW Good is getting Lost.... Man this tuesday was freaking Awesome I'm glad that we will know everything in a few weeks but it sucks that the show has to end it's just sofreaking good.

Ok some series News... actually cancellations all this series have been canned

Flashfoward... Ok no surprise the show never pulled great ratings, it had a lot of promise and great cast it started with a huge pilot but it got all over the place really fast, I believe to many writers that didn't know what to do with the story a lot like Lost in the 3rd season .... The show got better once it return from hiatus but it was too little to late what a waste.

Heroes.... No surprise here the show cost way too much and the rating fell down hard this season and let's get real for a second this series had an amazing 1st season but the other 3 sucked... Everyone was waiting for the same magic from the first season but the show could never deliver too bad.

Scrubs... no surprise they tried too give it a vote of confidence but we all knew that the series was a goner once the original cast signed of still I loved this show.

Better of Ted... Really liked it but it never got real air time... the series just never found it's place.

Romantically Challenged... No surprise told you guys it sucked how sad that you make a show and it gets cancelled after 3 episodes... the show just wasn't funny what a waste to use Alyssa Milano.

Mercy... Thank u God I didn't know why this show was originally picked over trauma for a complete season because it sucked bye bye.

Trauma... This upsets me it survived once couldn't do it twice, but this happens when writers turn a good show into a stupid Soap.

Law & Order... The series a mean the Soap has been cancelled after 20 years... this is kind of stupid because a new show called Law & Order: LA will come next season so the thing is same show different cast.

....

Other News V has been renewed... so This means that former Lost cast member Jules beat Penny and Charlie on which series to join after Lost...LOL

I'm disappointed in all of you! I didn't read very closely, but the one show I thought it would be UNANIMOUS that we'd all love hasn't been mentioned!

Friday Night Lights: While it is not as good as LOST, for the football and TV series fan in me, it is outstanding! Coach Taylor is exactly like you want every coach to be. This guy has motivated me to start looking into pee-wee football coaching opportunities in my area.

LOST: I'm with you all on this - BEST show to ever hit television. And I am very upset to have to lose it. Having a big shin-dig at my house next weekend for the last episode. My favorite character is still Locke... that guy just kicks so much ass!

Great thread! Gives me some more ideas to look into now that we're losing LOST.

Too bad about FlashForward. I was starting to get into it. I've actually got two episodes recorded that I haven't watched yet, and now I wonder if it's even worth it.

I'm with you on Friday Night Lights, Zac. Loving this new season a ton! I kinda' wish they'd get away from Riggins and Saracen so we can learn more about some of these new kids, but they might lose ratings if they abandoned two of their top draws.

But on a happier note... "The Paul Reiser Show"

I'm a huge Reiser fan from the Mad About You days, so glad to see he's getting back to work. One thing NBC is doing right these days is comedy, so hopefully this is up to par.

Haynie I don't know if you know much about the show (like who films it and whatnot), but the entire season is played solely on DirecTV during the winter, and then it re-airs during the summer on NBC. I watched the first two episodes but after this week I couldn't stand it anymore and I've found the entire season available online:

http://www.sidereel.com/Friday_Night_Lights

If the weekly suspense gets to be too much for you, that website has dozens of links for each episode. I'm a couple weeks ahead at this point. At the end of season 3, the plot took a twist for the best (as you know). The concept of a great head coach starting up a team with a bunch of scrubs... I really think this season is going to be the best one yet.

And JD McCoy is totally molded after Colt McCoy. If you saw Colt's draft party on draft night... not only does JD look similar to Colt, but JD's dad and mother look exactly like Colt McCoy's parents. Jason Streep (season 1-3) is totally molded after Tom Brady, looks and all.

Just neat how they put all this stuff together.

Yeah Haynie - I don't have cable so there's no problem keeping up with the DVR on my end. LOL

I'm going to probably start watching Prison Break. They've got the entire series on Netflix that I can stream to my Xbox360 so I think I'm going to do that. I wanted to watch that show when it first came out but I was working evenings back then and could never consistently watch it.

The other show I'm watching right now:

X-Files: They added this to Netflix's "Watch Instantly" section. I watched it intermittently when I was younger and just loved the show. Love the mixture between horror and mystery in them. So now I'm just watching one episode before bed every night (and a few on weekends). Plus it's easy to watch because most of the episodes don't link to the next one like LOST, Prison Break, Friday Night Lights, etc. You can watch one episode normally and not feel compelled to watch the next one.

Zac I watched Prison Break through NetFlix using the PS3. You are in for a treat Brother. One of the all time bests in my books of a great well written TV series. Man I envy you getting to see it for the first time with all those unwatched Episodes. It will reel you in and you will have to force yourself to break away from watching it. LMAO.

I guess since the networks have cancelled SO many shows this season we are in for a crap load of new shows coming up. At least as of now they are still bringing back Warehouse 13 in July. Not my favorite of all my shows but since they have cancelled so many I guess I have to watch something. Warehouse 13 was OK. I hope I don't hear next that Lie To Me is axed too.

What I don't like Adam it's this 2 fenomenos that are happening in television wich points out to the lack of creativity of the producers or thinking more of the same will work.

The Remake fenomenon... I don't know who was the smart executive that came up with the idea but i nthe past 2 years we have seen almost everyremake of shwos fro mthe 80's and 90's... NightRider, 90210, Merlose Place, V, can't remember another but it sure is.... and now Hawaii 5-0... Only 1 hit with V and that's because it's totally different to the original with 100 times better effects.

Next it's the copy of a show that made it same concept differnt cast... CSI, CSI: Miami, CSI:NY, Criminal minds, Criminal minds2 (doesn't have a name yet), Law and order, Law and Order: SUV, Law and Order: LA, the other police drama I don't watch something like NICS something like that and NICS LA (with cris Odonell and LL cool J)... Grey's Anatomy, Private practice. The Office, Parks and recreation... really there's 0 creativity left to create something new?

The last one is this fail stupid attempt for 2 years 3 shows about mistery, magic and assassination last year there was somethin gabout an Island where everyone got killed who wants to se a series about that, that Eastwick and because that didn't work we get Happy freaking Town... Thank God all got canceled and Hope they never do this again.

I'm just messing with you Don. I agree with you on all the remakes. It is old and stale. Especially all the CSI shows that are out there. I don't watch a single one of them. They are WAY over done and boring now.

I was a big fan of Numb3rs though. But it ran for 6 seasons. So I will just have to get use to not seeing it anymore. We will see what they come up with for next season. I hope there is some fresh ideas coming our way.

The bigges surprise for me here it¿s the move of Big Bang Theory from Modays to Thursdays. CBS dominates monday's comedy's with How I met Your Mother, BBT and Two and a Half Man.

So de move is surprising the only logical explanation is that they're trying to go affter NBC's Thursdays which will be a fail attempt. NBC has The Office, Parks and 30 rock all 3 shows attract a lot of viewers. Weeeeird move

Watching "The Good Wife" right now and I'm kinda' pissed; they completely ripped off the first episode of "The Shield" with a story about a whistle-blowing cop who gets killed by the crooked members of his own taskforce. I love this show and hate to say anything bad, but they haven't even tried to tweak or alter the story in any way from what "The Shield" did. I know there are few "original ideas" anymore and everything is inspired by something that came before it, but this is just too blatant.

Does anyone watch Flash Point at all? It took quite a long offseason break there...so long that I thought it had been cancelled. But it is about to come back. That is one Swat Special Forces show that I really really like and loved the touching stories that the writers threw in to every episode mixed in with all the action. Every show for me left me thinking deeply after it was over. My Wife told me it was about to come back for the next season. I also just saw the advertisement for it yesterday saying it was coming back. But I forgot the exact date. If anyone else watches it in here I will let you know when I find out for sure the date it airs again.

OK CBS is saying it might be back on as early as this Mid-Summer but if not it will be ready to go by early Fall with all the Fall line-ups. Well look at that Don...at least one of my shows is coming back. well I still have Fringe, Bones, Castle, "V", Extreme: Home Makeover with Ty. (Love that show!) Lie To Me, Warehouse 13, Hells Kitchen, Caprica & Justified.

I was checking out some new shows for the fall line up on ABC and 2 shows looked like possible decent series. But I don't know for sure. They have up Sneak Peaks of the Brand new shows...so check them out Don for me and tell me what you think. The Shows are called: "No Ordinary Family." & "Body of Proof" with Dana Delany (But it looks like a copy of Bones to me. So I may like it because Bones is one of my favorite shows. The Last new one is called "Better Together." A new Comedy set up joke wise and wise cracks like That 70's Show use to be. Might be funny.

Adam I don't watch previews of the show 1 because I don't want to spoil a good new show and 2 because some shows look really good in the preview and flat out suck what I do it's that I see the first 3 episodes of almost every new show some i know flat out I won't like shows made for teens or girls like glee vampire dairies, 90210 etc.. so after the third episode I decide what show keep watching and what shows just flat out drop.

Some get you hook fro mepisode 1 some take a while like Community and Modern Family if you watch the first episode of both you might have not give it another shot because they where ok but not wow, it took them a few episodes to find their way but now are the 2 best shows of 2009.

So Sorry Dig won't be able to help u until September, when the shows are up what you should do in the mean time it's watch the other shows I've recommended u like Spartacus, Dexter, Breaking Bad, United States of Tara, The Bridge even Men of a certain age was good... Another new show that I'm liking it's gravity of people that survived a suicide attempt and are in a support group... pretty heavy some times but well made.

Now About Flash Point I saw it like it when it came out 3 years ago in Canada but couldn't get hooked it just wasn't for me maybe because of the uniforms that look like painter overalls or maybe it's because I can't take serious the guy fro Veronica Mars or the pink Power ranger as swat members... I don't know but it isn't a bad show just it isn't good for me.

Don I agree about the Bomber episode. I was not thrilled with it. But the show 9 times out of 10 kicks ass so no biggie. Just chalk it up as a small hiccup.

I saw last night Rubicon is on Hulu ready to watch and will be once the first season kicks off. So I will be sure to tune in and follow.

Haynie...True Blood...When is that on and what is it about?

Haynie
06-16-2010, 12:01 PM
"True Blood" is set in a modern-day version of America where vampires have gone "mainstream" and now live out in the open with humans. There are conflicts between humans and vamps, and even between the vamps themselves as some want to keep the peace and others want to dominate humanity. There's a synthetic blood substitute, "TruBlood," which allows the peaceful vamps to sustain themselves without feeding on humans.

The story revolves around a girl named Sooki (played by Anna Paquin, "Rogue" from the X-Men movies), and her vampire boyfriend Bill. I've watched the first two seasons and I really enjoy it.

Yeah Don I just watched a sneak peek of "The Gates" on Hulu which is a Vampire type new show kicking off. It was lame and I will not be watching it when it comes out. To much like a Desperate Housewives show for me.

But...I just got finished watching the Pilot for Rubicon. You are right Don. You know my tastes and I think you have nailed it for me to find a show that will replace Numbers. It looks like a Conspiracy, Espionage, assassin with numbers and codes with a little 24 thrown all in to one. Looks great out of the gates.

But I am seeing that it may not be played week to week on Hulu. I hope that is wrong because I prefer to watch my shows on the PC. But if not hopefully AMC will air the new Episodes each week. But I am sure to mark the calender to make sure I watch each week. Thanks for the heads up Dog.

Keep Em' coming when you see or hear about shows you think I would like in the future. I hate this time of year when all the shows are through with the season Finals. Kind of like the offseason for football. I run around trying to find stuff to pass my time in the evenings and there is just crap on right now. Right now i am watching "Lie To Me". Getting ready for Warehouse 13 to come back in July. I am still watching "Justified" but it is probably ending soon as well. We are already on the 12th episode and usually the first season of new shows do not go past 12 or 13 shows.

I do watch Hells Kitchen and new season 7 is under way now. I LOVE Ramsey. He is such a great ahole on that show. LMAO

Justified has ended already for me was an OK show not wow but not bad either.... A new show I'm starting to like the first episode I thought it was a little dumb but now by the third 1, I really enjoy it. It's called The Good Guys it's about a new detective that it's paired up with a washed up old detective, you know old school type of detective, and the only reason they haven't fired him or retired his ass is because he saved the mayor or governors life at one point.

Any way they are set to take on the lamest cases the force gets like the robbery of a humidifier or the breaking of a vending machine but when they go out and look into it, it becomes a much bigger crime.

it's different and pretty funny... The guy that plays the washed up detective id Bradley Whitford he was in the west wing and studio 60 very good actor and it's a good show to watch check it out.

Don comparing it to the "Cube" is perfect Dog. Newman I gave it a try as well but did not get past the very first show. It just did not capture me at all. If you keep trying to hang in there with the show Newman...let me know how it is going every now & then.

Don. I just finished watching "Lie to me" Sweet Sixteen Episode. Man I loved it. Jimmy Doyle & the whole Irish part reminded me of Boondock Saints a little bit. But the first movie and not the over the top second one. In this Episode I enjoyed seeing the characters Develop a bit and us getting a peek into their backgrounds.

That's the 1 episode I didn't like, the background was a little forced and the excuse to keep it a secret for 7 years was stupit at the end... and everyone helping Doyle even the police was far fetched... plus the guy that killed his familly doing everything so they didn't find about him. Stupid story, stupid coverup, just a bland episode.

But like u said every series is allowed 1 bad episode

Yeah look up about 5 or 6 posts Dog. I told you "The Gates" Sucked. I saw the sneak peak of it a few weeks ago. I also already told you it was just like Desperate Housewives but throw in some Vampire crap. It is just pathetic. ABC is really reaching with this one. But the ladies of this world will probably love it. LMAO

OK Don now the "Whole Truth" Episode of Lie To Me was a good. You can't complain about that one. Well I take that back Dog. Some how you could find a way to bash it. LMAO. But I thought it was great. Very well written to where it kept you wondering the whole show. It kept turning on you just when you thought you had it all figured out. Not to mention the Lady up for Murder was Hot! Love the Eye Candy.

I'm just glad Lie To Me is back on during this slow TV time right now. Not to many shows on right now that get me excited for the next show. But it should get better for me once Warehouse 13 and hopefully Rubicon kicks off. I hope Rubicon is as good as the Pilot leads us to believe. Not a BIG let down like Flash Forward turned out to be.

yeah it was a good episode, of the new shows "The Good Guys" are becoming my personal favorite. episode 4 was up yesterday and man, it made me laugh so hard it's a must see cop show.

Leverage was back for season 3 Monday, Hawthorne (crap with Jada Smith) and new show called Memphis Beat that I didn't had time to watch would let you know once I do.

Yeah I am watching "The Good Guys on your recommendation too Don. I thought it was just OK when I saw the first episode. Kind of thought it was kind of dumb and not that funny. Kind of like stupid funny you know? But I kept watching it and now I am finding I actually like it and find myself cracking up more often. I did like the last show. Just when you thought they were finally getting their respect from the Boss Lady they went and let the guy go and are now back in the Dog House once again.

Loved the Vending Machine Episode as well. Love the Trans AM on the show. I would love to have that car. Don you & I have to work on our Stash on the Ole Upper Lip according to the Dude who knows his Women. LMAO

yeah Adam that's why I always give every show 3 episodes (unless they're reaaaaally bad like the Alysa Milano one), and just like u and like I told you at first I wasn't on board with the show but by the Vending Machine episode they won me over... The Old cop just cracks me up.. in this last episode when he tells the story about batman laughing my ass off

The only thing they are missing is them all wearing Bell Bottom Jeans. You know what cracks me up Don? Is the old guy/Cop (Can't remember his name on the show right now) how if your watching in the show...a lot of times as he gets all worked up he walks around or runs all Bow Legged. Funny as Hell. I also love how he talks to the Ladies with that big Mustachio. What is even funnier is most of them Respond. LMAO

It is just turning out to be better than I expected. I am really enjoying now the humor in it. All I had to do was remove that stick out of my butt before I watched it and then I started to laugh.

OK I just saw Memphis Beat, it star Jason lee as a Memphis detective, it was ok but for a pilot episode I didn't saw anything new, different or even wow from it just another cop show. On a second note I really like Jason Lee but for me it's way to early after My name is Earl to see him in another show; I just kept picturing Ed trying to solve the case or help out like he did in his old show.

I'll give it my 3 episode rule to win me over; but for right now I give it a B- an Ok show to watch if nothing better is on.

OK Persons Unknown has reached a new low, the new episode start with them trying to escape by doing a tunel... and my first question as I see it is where did they got the shovels, the carts the freakink boards to hold the walls so the tunel doesn't close then they pull a compas and after 20 feet not only they hit a wall wich I could actually buy it, but this wall opens and throws gas at them COME ON.

OHH AN PAPER DOESN'T BURN

CowboyzAdam
06-24-2010, 09:29 AM
Yeah I have started to use your 3 Episode rule since you told me you do it that way...Especially since the rule really worked for me with "The Good Guys". LOL. But you are right...The show does suck. Big Time! There will still be some shows that the 3 rule must be thrown out the door IMO. Another show the 3 rule was thrown out for with me was the show "The Gates".

I think you will agree with me on that one too. Have you watched the new show called "Happy Town"? A Client of mine who's PC I was fixing for them told me He really liked the Show. I have not seen it yet but noticed all 6 Episodes were up to watch on Hulu. After reading about it...It kind of sounded or reminds me like it could be similar to the movie Stephen King had made on one of his books called "Needful Things".

Most Stephen King Books made for the Movies or Mini-TV Series end up sucking compared to the books really really bad...but that does not mean "Happy Town" would suck. I might check it out since Hulu has all the Episodes up and there is not a lot out there good to watch right now.

BTW Don...Do you watch Warehouse 13 at all? I did not like it at first last year when it first came out...but your 3 rule system allowed me to finally get pulled in and I like the show. It is not the best show out in the world...but it is entertaining enough to keep me watching. At least the first season was.

DonCanabis
06-24-2010, 08:02 PM
Adam Happy Town SUCKS... and it has been cancelled and it was completly what you said about the Stephen King books actually 1 of the main actors is the one that always acted in the Stephen kings movies and mini series can't remember his name but you know who the one that almost always played the lead orthe creappy guy.

I don't know why there has been a hge run the past 2 years with this mistery movie series that all the networks are doing becuase non have made it but yet they keep doing it.

I haven't seen Warehouse 13 what is it about? I think it's sci -fi and that's why I wasn't up to it I just don't like al those, Star trek, Stargate, gallatica,etc... series just not for me

Rookie Blue started yesterday and it looks promising

I have a hard time watching any cop show after "The Shield," my second-favorite series ever after "The Sopranos." I tried watching "Southland" and it just didn't do it for me. The only one I really want to try is going back to watch "The Wire" because everything I've heard about it makes it sound like one of the best shows in history.

What did you like about "Rookie Blue," Don?

DonCanabis
06-27-2010, 04:47 PM
Well Haynie, if you didn't like Southland you won't like rookie blue, Southland is darker more in your face, rookie blue is a little light, what I liked is that it's focused on a group of rookies on the force... So I like the idea of following green cops but if you like the intese cop shows like The Shield this one will dissapoint u

Ok New Show The Glades on A&E about a detective in Florida... The Pilot was Awesome if it keeps up like this we might have a new pretty good show, you guys should watch.

Ok Summer shows that have rocked.

The Good Guys new show that has been funny as hell can't wait to see it each week.

Rookie Blue new concept already has been renewed for a 2nd season after 3rd episode I have to say that it has gone down for me in the past 2 episodes but still pretty good.

Summer Shows That still rock every year.

Entourage is back and I jut love this show specially Ari Gold ( Jeremy Piven). Lie to Me we all like, Royal Pain is ok but not wow,True Blood only vampire show worth watching. Rescue Me Final Season just hope is as good as the last season becasue this show went downhill in the third season.Hung second season this is a good HBO show about a guy that has a big jonhson and becmes a male hooker when things go bad. Burn Notice I really like this spy show every year is a must watch show. Leverage is going into it's 3rd season and if you haven't seen it it's worth it. It's about a group of con artists and thieves that do some Robbin hood shit in big scale going after bad guys to help the less fortunate, there's a blonde thief character that rocks that chick that plays her is really good and hot, she plays her like an awkward tomboy and she does it perfectly she steals the show.

Hey Don have you checked out the brand new show on USA on Tuesdays called "Covert Affairs"? It Stars Piper Perabo and the Pilot just went up on Hulu and Cast TV. My Wife and I just watched it and we really enjoyed it a lot. Check it out Dog. It is written by the same writer that did the Bourne movies.

Also are you still watching "Rookie Blue" Don? I am and just saw the 4th episode. I enjoyed the first 3 but was not to crazy about this last one. It was OK I guess but I was a bit bored half way through. I will keep watching it because over-all I think it is a good show. Even my favorite shows have lame ducks here and there. I will count this 4th episode as one of those lame ducks that just did not capture me much.

I am still watching "The Good Guys" as well Dog. I have grown to love that show. I do not watch to many comedy shows because most on today I find really really stupid. They are just to slap stick for my enjoyment. I do not laugh much in comedies today. But I laugh my ass off every time I watch "The Good Guys."

Yeah Adam I saw Covert Affairs I really liked it and it has a lot of promise but 2 things I didn't like.... The first is the kid playing the blind agent he just does an awful job at it, and the subplot about his ex-boyfriend being also an Agent... what are the freaking odds I just hope this subplot doesn't last to long because it's going to screw the show why can't it be a show only about a new recruit 4 the CIA.

Rookie blue has let me down a little in the past 2 show specially because of how quickly they have made it about the relationships, it's a show that has a lot of potential and could be really good and I hate that it falls to the same typical stuff and you know how I hate when a show turns into a Soap. I just hope they refocus and make it about the job... but it didn't hurt me that much to watch both actresses dress like call girls hahaha

That is too funny. I told my Wife when we were watching it that I thought he was doing a poor job of looking like he was really blind. My Wife told me it was not that bad. I said yeah it is. He is horrible at it. I asked Her how She can say it was not that bad when he kept looking right at the person walking in a room when they went to talk to him. He would turn and look right at them for a second making direct eye contact with them then realize he is suppose to be blind and quickly look away focusing on a wall or picture or something. He is pathetic at it. I like the show so far to much to let his poor Blind acting ruin it for me though. Now I just find it kind of funny and just laugh when it comes to him. It is like lets see how many times he screws up playing blind in this episode. LOL

Yeah Like I said I am still watching Rookie Blue, but like you have found...the last episode especially I thought was really lame and I felt let down a bit. You are right they are only in to 4 shows of a brand new series and they are already turning the show more & more in to the typical relationship crap. It is called "Rookie Blue" and is a Cop show...Not the New Rookie Relationship Lover. I want to see action and the trial and tribulations of how tough it is to be faced with a Rookie spot on the Police Force. Trying to fit in and learn all the Do's & Don'ts. They started the show off doing just that and I thought it kicked off perfectly but now I am not so sure.

I will give it more time but I will tell you if it continues to get cheesier and cheesier with love stuff I am switching the channel and they can team up with eventually losing their air time ratings just like Trauma did and be cancelled. Why can't they just put all the Love interests shows full of relationships on the Life Channel or Hallmark Channel and leave the prime time TV slots with the big Networks alone with all that fluff stuff? Oh and yeah...I enjoyed seeing the Bleach Blond Rookie all decked out in her Hoochie Momma Clothes. The lead Girl playing the Rookie Cop did not look anywhere near as hot as the Blonde girl did. But that was the whole look the Producers were going for though. They wanted Her to look out of place and uncomfortable compared to the blonde girl. How funny was it sending the guy Cop out there in the tight all white jeans & white Shoes to match with the solid black Shirt to scope out and reel in Gay guys? He looked funny as hell. I could see the old guy dressed up like that trying to get a bust on "The Good Guys!" That would be hilarious!

Rookie Blue doesn't really do it for me. I'm going to be a cop and obviously a rookie cop, in the near future, so i thought this show would entertain me, but its not really happenin. I've been on the streets with a cop i know and this show is way too cheesy and made for TV. Southland is the best cop show to ever come out and I can't wait for that to come back to satisfy my "cop show needs"

Hey Don so far Warehouse 13 has been a big let down for season 2. I am in to 2 episodes and both have sucked to me. If it does not get better soon I will stop watching it.

On another note have you checked out The LXD on Hulu? Here is the description Hulu has up on it: From visionary writer/director Jon M. Chu comes THE LXD: THE LEGION OF EXTRAORDINARY DANCERS. Join seemingly ordinary people who discover they have extraordinary powers in a groundbreaking mythology about hope, greed, love and the force that moves us all.

I watch it mainly for the sick Dance moves it has. It has Krump, Poppin, break Dancing just some really really sick moves. Each Episode is about 10 Min long. Comes out once a week on Wednesdays. It is a quicky to kill 10 Min of time. Check it out if you like to see really good Moves dance wise using the Arts & Culture of ghetto and street dance.

It reminded me of the old school break dancing movies that were the fad back in the 80's. Not my cup of tea once I checked it out.

I saw the first episode and thought it was kind of cool but then when it went on to the others I quickly got bored of it and found it rather dumb. Besides them dancing you really can't tell what the hell is going on? BTW way Dog...Take it easy when busting my chops...Now my nutz are sore.

Yeah Don I love the show a lot but have to agree with you about lasts week show. It felt like they were really reaching to come up with something in that Episode. The writers for that show are usually on week after week but dropped the ball IMO this week. I hated how they made Ria Torres out like a out of control ready to crack with Her emotions fool. Well actually they did make Her crack emotionally wise and act very unprofessionally.

Did not like that at all because She has come such a LONG way on that show. I wish the writers would actually do the opposite with Her on up coming shows. Throw Her in there as a much more in control and active Character during cases. She is bad ass when in control at times in episodes when Dr Lightman forces Her to take more of a lead and figure stuff out in cases here and there.

I think it is time the writers make Her more of a factor in cases some weeks rather than Her staying stagnant as the Dr's little prote'ge' to play with all the time. The one Character in the show that I hate and think is totally useless is Eli Loker the Geek. He gets on my nerves. He never hardly ever helps much with any cases but complains about this & that and constantly tells everyone how great he is. Not to mention he hits on Torres relentless and is a dork.

BTW Don....Did you see the 2nd Episode of Covert Affairs yet? I like the Pilot better than the 2nd episode but it was alright. I still really like the show but hate the acting of the blind guy. He is still really really horrible at it. Also they need to get Piper a damn Gun already so She will stop getting Her ass kicked. LMAO She did kick some ass in the end there though. Also get Her a company car to drive around in already and quit making Her drive around in her own little BRIGHT as hell Red car that sticks out like freaking sore thumb.

OK Adam I saw the second episode of Covert affairs and the blind guy keeps pissing me off I just don't get why you needed a blind guy? Also the genious kid those nothing genious in the whole episode other than stare blindly to the front and read the same spy novel over and over again.

I really want that show to work but they're making it really hard for me.

The only show that keeps getting better is the good guys you just can't wait to hear what comes out of that guys mouth

Yeah "The Good Guys" has been my one true surprise new show of the Summer. It is golden and the writers are just brilliant so far with that show. Like I told you before...I DO NOT do much comedy shows. But this one is a true gem that you found for us Dog.

Getting to the Covert Affairs Show. Do you also not find it stupid that Piper drives around in a bright Red car (Which is her own car mind you) for stake outs and to blend in on cases. That is just the dumbest thing I have ever seen and do not understand what the writers are thinking? Not to mention it is still bugging the crap out of me that they do not give the Girl a Gun. Pepper spray??? Get clue guys.

Yes Thunder Cats is Awesome!!

After I first read your post a couple hours ago today, I went over to Amazon to look for he-man dvds. I noticed seasons one and season two and each are in 2 volumes. Would that be the complete he-man origanal series.

There are some good cartoons from the 80s. I also have the complete series of Transformers on dvd. It came with really cool packaging.

Yeah Don it is going to be tough for the writers to match or beat that Episode. But I sure as heck can't wait to see what they come up with next! LMAO

Oh and BTW. I am over Rookie Blue. Man sorry I gave it a try and it looked to be maybe promising. But it has turned in to a freaking Cop Love Story. I am so sick of almost every show turning to the sex and love crap. Ah not to sound sexist or anything...but can we get some dang Hard Ass writers in to write some shows just for us guys for a change so they will stop ruining all the shows with love circles all the time.

Adam no need to apologize I haven't seen the last 2 episodes of rookie blue because I knew they were going to be crappy love story and you know how I freaking hate that in shows.

Also I watched the 3rd episode of Covert affair and it's starting to go downhill fast if you can believe it the third episode it's even worse than the past two... I don't know if I will continue to waste my time with this show... At least this time the blind guy ( who still sucks acting like one) made an effort to look away of the monitor while typing but made me wonder Hum Why does he need a Monitor anyway? it's not like he's going to see what he's typing.

And a lot of the spy stuff is just stupid they call each other to the phone the to "agents" protecting piper sit 5 feet from the bad guy each 1 alone in a table staring straight at them both... Piper is undercover as a 20 year old kid girlfriend and she's more interested on not letting the kid grab his ass and making clear she isn't a cougar and she doesn't sleep with the kid rather than protect her cover...

When they're with "the bad guy" who can't even scare a 5 year old, and they leave the breakfast or whatever to get into the Ferrari she doesn't even say goodbye to her "boyfriend" with even a kiss on the cheek, If I'm a bad guy I know something is suspicious when the girlfriend doesn't even notice the guy.

And last but not least You stupid ignorant writers, I know that the Word Favela has become as popular as the word Vuvuzelas. But you bunch of Donkeys the Favelas are poor neighborhoods in BRAZIL not Venezuela or any other poor Latin America country... Like they wouldn't could a Poor Neighborhood in Venezuela the Ghetto the y don't call it a Favela.

Sorry Adam but I won't give t more than 1 more episode and it's over for me ohh and if you haen't watch it tgry to guess? yeah she doesn't use a gun AGAIN. We send our agets to another country with only a cellphone as a weapon.

Just saw the recent Episode of Covert Affairs. Yeah i am really disappointed in the way this show is going. It looked so promising. I may stick it out for a few more shows mainly because I really like Piper a lot. But I may be forced to stop watching it like Rookie Blues if it keeps getting lamer and lamer. Well Rubicon should be getting ready to start real soon. Hopefully it will be hit. The Sneak Peek was pretty good.

Nope. I am not into Poker Don. Maybe playing it for fun here & there but I have never got in to watching it on TV.

Hey did you see the 2nd Episode of Rubicon "The First Day Of School?" It launched last Sunday evening on AMC. They have it up on http://www.amctv.com/videos/rubicon/?bcpid=85690147001&bclid=91388070001 if you want to check it out. It was pretty good. It still leaves you with SO many unanswered questions. Actually it left me more stumped as to what in the heck was going on after watching it. But it did spend time allowing you to see how the cast is being set up to operate throughout the show.

It will start to tie together more as it moves along I am sure. But it has me intrigued now so I will keep watching on Sundays. For anyone that missed the sneak peek Pilot back in June they have it up on AMC to watch as well. It looks like it has the chance to be a pretty good show.

DonCanabis
08-06-2010, 03:01 PM
Yeah I watched it but because it took so much time from episode 1 to 2 it took me a while to catch what was going on.... I found it like a middle episode you know an episode when they're laying down the pieces but nothing really happens.

Now The last episode of The Good Guys Man I don't know if it was better than Silvio's but at least as good. Man that show has some really good writers.

CowboyzAdam
08-06-2010, 05:37 PM
You hit the nail right on the head with Rubicon Dog. It did take so long it seemed between the first Episode and the 2nd one that I too was a bit confused. I went back and watched the pilot so it would make more sense to me. But it was exactly like you said...Like a middle Episode where they were mainly laying down the ground work. Like laying out the pieces of the puzzle so you can see them all then they will hopefully from here on out explain how all those pieces go together. But I think it has promise but it is way to early to tell yet. Lets hope so because I need something to replace Numbers. LMAO

Yeah i saw the last Good Guys and loved it just like you said. I do not think I have seen a bad episode yet. The show if it keeps going the way it has and stays a consistent show...it should be up for best new comedy show of the year or Summer as far as I am concerned.

yeah Haynie I saw it to really good, I liked the pilot.

I also saw Nikita I thought it would suck but I actually liked it.

Adam what are your thoughts on rubbicon... I'm watching it but for me right now it's just ok hasn't wowed me.

I am not crazy about Rubicon Don. I have given it a try and it is just to slow and IMO nothing like Numbers.

BUT...I did watch Nikita and really like it. Pilot was great. Lets hope they can keep up and not lose us by let downs after the pilot. Don what the heck happened to The Good Guys? It just stopped being shown. They said it would be back on Sept 3rd. Now it is sometime in Sept. I do not even know why the stopped showing it for like a month in the first place. They stopped it at episode 9.

I watched the first 20 mins of "Nikita" and got called away from it. I liked what I saw so far, though. Going to finish it tonight.

I'm watching "Rubicon" too and am finally enjoying it. It started REALLY SLOW and almost lost me, but now things are starting to come together. The main character, Will, is not my favorite although I love the actor (he was awesome in "The Pacific"). I don't think he's been given enough to work with. Will seems to always flip between overwhelmed and suspicious and hasn't shown much range. I know he's supposed to kind of a stone wall because if his wife and daughter dying in 9/11, but it's time they add some depth to his character. I also have no use for the single-mom/secretary love interest. She's boring.

What I do like are the three people who work under Will. They have really good chemistry. I also like the widow of the man who killed himself in the pilot. She's played by Miranda Richardson, a personal favorite actress, and I can't wait for her to get even deeper into the conspiracy and start working with Will (they teased it at that dinner party). I also like the Kale Ingram character, although sometimes he's a little over-the-top with the eccentricities.

To your last question, I'm looking forward to "The Event." I know it's an attempt to replace LOST, like you said, but that only bother me if they fail like "FlashForward" did. It has one great thing going for it in Zeljko Ivanek (bald guy who's been in "Damages," "Heroes," and "True Blood"), one of my favorite supporting actors ever.

I finished "Nikita" and I really liked it. Not nearly as campy as I'd feared it would be. It could have passed for a FOX show.

Everything I've read about "Lone Star" is gushing with love. It debuts next Monday and I'll definitely be watching that.

Also, new season of "The Apprentice" starts Thursday and they're finally going back to just regular old people as opposed to celebrities. I loved the original seasons and I'll give this one a chance.

Yeah I saw "Outlaw" as well and thought it was lame and a show that has been done a million times before. I also checked out another new show called "Terriers." It started out really really slow...but if you hang in there it gets much better towards the end. Reminds me a little bit of "The Good Guys" but just not as funny. It was good enough that I will give it the 3 episode rule. Still irritated at the Good Guys show. Just stopping after 9 episodes and leaving you hanging. First they say it is coming back Sept 3rd. Then they put up it comes back sometime in Sept. Now they say in October. WTF???

Haynie & Don...don't forget this Tuesday night is the pilot of "Detroit 1-8-7." They have a 10 Min Sneak Peek of it up on Hulu if you want to get an idea of what it will be like. It looks promising from the little I saw. I am looking forward to seeing it.

I'm also Watching the Big C... with laura linney... I'm getting a little tired of the character finds that she/he has terminal cancer or illness and changes her life theme, but this series I actually like, it's funny good characters and a little wacky.

A few new series started yesterday haven't watched them so can't give reviews and some I don't know what they're about... I try not to read what they are about before seeing them because many times I've passed on series before watching them because of the synopsis and regret it later (weeds and example), so now I watch every series at least 1 episoe (if they're reaaaally bad) but as Adam knows I follow the 3 episode rule lol

I watched "Lone Star" and "The Event" last night. I thought "Lone Star" was fantastic and is the best new show I've seen so far. It had brilliant writing, well-executed scenes, and a story that has tons of potential. "The Event" is intriguing but has a lot of potential for disaster. There are some suspect actors in the cast, but the same was true of "Heroes" and I liked that show up until the plot fell apart. I'll stick with this show for now, but I'm wary.

The Event... like Haynie I'm not sold on it, it has a lot of potential for either succes or failure... I wasn't wowed like I was with the debut of Lost, Heroes and FlashFoward... so it isn't a great sign.

Mike and Molly... A comedy about two fat people finding each other... love/comedy looks lame give it 10 episodes tops.

Chase... About US Marshall, it has lot's of potential fast, upbeat.... the only thing I didn't like was near the end when they put the fellon trying to cross the Mexican border and they make the Border look like going into 3rd world country... I don't get why producer keep doing the same shit 20 years later it always pisses me off... the dumbest thing is that they put people going from the US to Mexico carring Chikens and crap to Mexico when it usually the other way around.

Maybe the Economy is so bad gringos are now fleeing to Mexico LOL.

Running Wilde.... A MUST SEE!!!! Comedy it stars Will Arnett from Arrested Developmet and it has the same Dark humor... I couldn't sto laughing it will be the comedy of the year like Modern Family was last year.... Check out the Horses is the only think I will say and if you don't fall out of your sit you don't know funny.

Lone Start.... A MUST SEE ALSO!!! man I will get pissed if the reports are true and foxs kills it early, great pilot great subject about a conn man sure hope it sticks.

Hawaii Five 0.....
Raising Hope...
Detroit 187...
undecovers....
The Defenders....
The Whole Truth...

Hawaii Five 0..... ok I have to say it wasn't a bad pilot, it has a great cast it fast pace good visual effects, and story it gets a little cheesy at times but that's expected of an action series. So at least I'm going to give it the 3 episode rule ... the thing I don't know if I have the time to watch a series about nothing just for the fun of it. I'm watching too much as it is, but if you like this type of shows it doesn't look like it will suck

The Defenders.... Jim Beluchi and Jerry o'Connell about hmm if you need help after reading the title then we have bigger problems.... it was good but for me same old Law show nothing wow.... might watch it for a few episodes or if I don't have nothing to watch but don't see it bringing anything new... Like Boston legal did Man I loved that show to bad it got cancelled

Raising Hope... weeeird show... really weeeeeird show .... 10% funny 90% Weird.

Outsourced... sitcom about yeah telecomunication in India.... it wasn't bad but it just wasn't funny enough and with really good sitcoms like How I met Your mother, Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Man, Community, 30 Rock, The Office, Modern Familly Running Wilde (did I miss 1?) I just don't see people following it.

Better with You... Another Sitcom that has more of the same, a dumb guy a care free spirit, an uptight chick and kind of nerdy charecter... 10 episodes tops

My Generation.... A Must SEE!!! I really liked the pilot of this new series it's different and interesting.. It's a Mockumentary, and it's done in type of where are they now format. it follows a group of 9 Highschool Students that where "Interviewed" 10 years ago and follows them on what they're doing now comparing to what they wanted.... It's done really well if you didn't knew some of the actors it actually looks quite real, it also brought back a lot of memories... A think it's a cool format but I don't know how you can do more than 1 season of it it would be interesting.

I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Gave it a chance because of Arrested Development. It's funny. Not near as good as AD, but I'll at least watch a few more.

The Event... like Haynie I'm not sold on it, it has a lot of potential for either succes or failure... I wasn't wowed like I was with the debut of Lost, Heroes and FlashFoward... so it isn't a great sign.

Saw the second episode of "The Event" last night; thought it was a step in the right direction. One of the things that helped "LOST" survive was that, even when they were jerking you around with the story, the characters and acting quality was so good that you stayed engaged. "The Event" doesn't have that going for it, but fortunately it looks like they're going to be less cryptic and keep things moving with plot developments and revelations.

Oh, and I watched "Running Wilde." Don't know what you guys saw in it, because I thought it was pretty bad. The one part where his rich rival was pretending to be a doctor was kind of funny, but other than that I was not feeling it at all.

***IMPORTANT NEWS****

The first bad news of the season has come. Fox has cancelled Lone Star after two low rated episodes. Stupid Fox. The reality is that the show had no chance to succeed when it was placed to fight against MNF and the Event.

I think it's stupid to cancel such a good show instead of finding it a better time slot.

I just watched the 2nd Episode of "The Event". I can really see why a lot of folks are saying it reminds them of the Lost series. It reminds me a little bit of Lost mixed in with "V" or the X-Files so far. But so far 2 Episodes in I am enjoying it. I could do without all the flash backs they are having but I understand why they are doing it. It should tapper off soon I hope with the flash backs.

Also saw the 2nd show of Detroit 1-8-7. Man the show really really reminds me of the "Old Hill Streets Blues". I loved that show back in the day. Fitch is strange dude but gets things done in his weird way.

Saw the 2nd show last night of Hawaii 5-O. I am liking it. A lot of action and I love Jin or Gin from Lost staring in it. He is great! The 2 very different Cops/Partners that teamed up are a great match for the show. Two very different ways of going about things and they play off each other really well. Not real sure i am crazy about the young skinny girl in the crew. I mean i have nothing against Her but I am just having a real hard time buying in to her being a real bad ass kicking ass and stuff like they are making her do in the show. She is just to small and skinny and does not look natural trying to pull it off in fight scenes.

Not enough to turn me against the show by any means but I just hope as the shows moves a long She gets better at it or improves so it comes across real. Other than that I really like the show so far.

Outlaw...Was not real crazy about the Pilot show but I did watch Episode 2 and like that show a lot more. I have never really been a big fan of Jimmy Smith but the show is growing me a little bit. I will continue with our 3 Episode rule and see where I am at then and get back to on the show then.

Now if you want to talk about a new Law show then I like "The Whole Truth" much better than Out Law so far. I have only watched the Pilot so far but it was a good opening IMO. Can't wait to see the 2nd show.

Getting ready to watch today the new show "No Ordinary Family". Previews looked good. Lets hope it is. i will share my opinions on the show later.

What did you all think of "Blue Bloods?" I saw the Pilot and thought it was OK. It has potential but it is way to early for me to say I am sold on it yet. Another words...out of the gates it did not knock my socks off but it did not turn me off either.

UnderCovers...Saw the first show and will watch the second one soon. A little like Nikita but Nikita is much better IMO out of the gates. I am not sure I am thrilled or sold on the whole Husband Wife Spy team plot. A little cheesy or lame if you ask me. It was entertaining enough with the action but I found myself having a hard time taking it seriously. But for action and to kill some time it is OK to watch. But I like Nikita better over the two.

Mike and Molly... A comedy about two fat people finding each other... love/comedy looks lame give it 10 episodes tops. Saw the second episode laughed more than I expected but just not my cup of tea So I'm out

Lone Start.... A MUST SEE ALSO!!! man I will get pissed if the reports are true and foxs kills it early, great pilot great subject about a conman sure hope it sticks.

Like Adam said the story are cool the chemestry between the two top guys it's really good I loved the scene when they are arguing on the roof of the hotel and the top guys start waking off talking all macho like you see in many show and the partner tells him he's walking the wrong way.... And I agree the chick just doesn't fit.

Still very weird 1 more show and I'm out.

Detroit 187... really like the pilot. I'm not one to like normal cop shows, specially if they're more of the same like Law & order which this is but have to accept that the first two episode are reaaaally good.

Undercovers.... I couldn't even finish the pilot that's how boring and unrealistic this show is... bad just bad don't waste your time... can't believe this show is still on and Lone Star gets cancelled.

No Ordenary Family... Really good Love show about superpowers... very similar to the Fantastic four... would had hope they have gotten other cooler powers specially the kids I thought their powers were lame but good show will watch it.

I agree; it's pretty lame. The sad part is that it has the framework for a cool show with some great production value, action scenes, and special effects. But the dynamic of the married couple is just weak and uses some of the most overused cliches (e.g. husband not reading the instruction manual), plus just some bad and unrealistic dialogue.

Instead of having this happy, near-perfect couple, they should have gone with something more deep; a married couple who barely knows each other after years of working for the government and has been struggling with their day-to-day lives. More of a "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" kind of feel, though without the two trying to kill each other.

yeah The Good Guys is the best new show, I didn't count it because it came out since July didn't count it but yes is the best new show out there.

Also it's sad for me to say it because I love How I met your Mother but Modern Family is the best Sitcom. It's just too damn funny. Best Drama it's Dexter non get even near.

Adam Outlaw got canceled (thank God that show suuuucked). The biggest surprise for me it's that Raising Hope was the first show picked for a full season. It Baffles me how a lousy weird show like that gets picked for a full season and a creative show like Lone Star gets cancelled after two episodes. Jimmy Smith would have been a great receiver for us if we'd kept him around. ;)

I like "The Whole Truth" enough that I've stuck with it, but I wish they'd do something to give the female lead some substance. So far she's come off as little more than a bitch. I also can't stand that same pouty-lipped look she's got on her face the entire episode. Time to flesh that character out some, because she's holding the show back for me.

Man it is stuff like this that just cracks me up and makes this one of the best Comedy shows to hit Prime Time TV in a very very long time for me. Week in and week out. The writers have nailed this whole show on a consistent week to week basis. You would think after a while they just could not match it or come up with anything new to keep you cracking up without it going south to stupidville like so many other wanna-be comedy shows have been ruined over the years.

But still great

Yeah I really liked the show as well. A lot better than I did "Outlaw." But for some reason I told my Wife last week I had a feeling the show was going to be cancelled. Oh well. I guess it is down to the Defender now. LMAO

Not sure who else is watching this show, but I thought last night's episode of "Detroit 1-8-7" was one of the best hours of TV I've seen in a while. It was easy to see that the shows writers were fans of The Shield by some of the scenes they executed. I'm glad to hear that ABC ordered more episodes because I don't think I could take it following Lone Star into oblivion.

I LOVE that show. I think I told you it reminds me of the old "Hill Street Blues" It was the one old show my Pops and I use to watch together all the time before they took it off so I have great memories with that show.

Yeah I am hooked big time Haynie on 1-8-7...and it's all your fault.

New Show on AMC debuted Yesterday "The Walking Death"... Zombie show based on a book or comic book never read it. I've never been a fan of zombie movies they're usually pretty much the same thing but I liked Zoombieland because it was funny and different and I've always liked the Resident Evil Series just because I was a fan of the games and well Milla Jovovich is always great to watch.

For my surprise the series started REALLY GOOD it's starts some what like the british movie 28 days later

it has potential and it's made like a film so it's prety cool

I liked "Walking Dead" also. Wide open story that could really take you anywhere as its the first time you've seen this genre in a weekly series. I'm very excited about what's to come.

Imagine my surprise when I saw it wasn't a special about Wade Phillips.

I'm starting to watch a show I didn't knew it existed on HBO is called "In Treatment" it's in its 3rd season and it's about a psychiatrist, it's 4 episodes per week the first 3 episodes are sessions with 3 different clients.

The show it's interesting because it's done like an actual session and it's done very good it last 1 hour and they talk about the patient and it's problem and every week you see a different patient and session of each patient and how it's progressing.

The fourth episode per week it's when he goes to his own session to work on him.

Pretty interesting and it has a lot to reflect on.

Totally agree Don & DC. I like the show and am still currently watching it each week. But the Kids Special Powers just plain Blows balls. The Parents Powers IMO are cool but yet simple and work with-in the show. But it is as if they got to the kids and had a brain fart. It's like OK we have 2 kids and the powers will be...Ah...wait for it...wait for it...Crap...I have no idea? What the hell do we give the kids? Oh I got it. Lets call the same guy who came up with giving Hot Piper from "Covert Affairs" a big Red Shiney car and no gun a call. He'll know what to do! He nailed the blind guy after all... OK he said to give the daughter the ability to read peoples minds. Oh Crap why didn't we think of that? That has never been done before. We are going to so rock the house on this!!!

The Son? Ah...He is a dork and well what do we do with that? Perfect. Lets make him Really really smart. See things worked out mathematical right before his eyes and then make him tell no one! Yeah that will put the show over the top for sure. I mean really people. Work with it some why don't ya. If you have a LAME ass power at least 4 or 5 Epi's in make it move a long to where it gets somewhat cooler and easier to bear.

But I still like the show and still will keep watching because I love the Dad and think he kicks ass.

Hey GUys I don't know if you guys finished watching the first season of the sho'w Rubicon... I know it started slow and I almost gave up but now I'm glad I didn't. The show started too slow and a little confused but after the 8th episode the show found it's way and by the 10th episode you couldn't turn me away.

The show closed with a huge Bang really give it a chance and you will love it too.... great, great show.

Honestly Don I will have to go back and watch it on a Marathon type deal one weekend at your recommendation. I gave it the 3 Epi rule a while back and it just let me down. It was so slow that it just lost me and I got bored. I felt like I was forcing myself to hang in there and watch it each week. But maybe later after I get caught up on everything else and have nothing left to watch I will go back and try it again. BTW...Another reason I quit on it was I really thought it was going to be or shall I say had hoped it was going to be more like Numbers. But it really wasn't.

Numbers was so much better than what I was watching. But I'll give it a go again.

This week's episode of Hawaii Five-0 was AWFUL. The plot was okay but it was executed so poorly. The scene at the end was especially stupid and completely unrealistic for ANY kind of "cop show." Overall it's been a solid series, but last night was probably the worst thing I've seen in some time from a show I actually liked.

I totally agree Haynie I was thinking the same thing the whole kidnap it was so stupid swats could go to the boat in so many ways he was only in one room couldn't see anything. The old navy guy when he starts telling the story of his role in the attack on Pearl Harbor, I'm like "sure, tell me the story in fact lets drink some tea it's not like we're in a hurry"... The phrase if "I say Jump sailor you say how high" so stupid to a 75 year old.

The whole kidnap, by the actual Russian father who did everything to get his daughter back but when Five-0 puts the car in front of the plane the bad guys give up without a fight they get out of the plane one by one without resistance, they didn't even needed to get into the plane to get them out... it was like " ohh crap you got us, darn it were sorry".

The last and worse scene like you said it's the end they take the handcuffs from the guy who made all this crap so his stepdaughter can say goodbye which we've seen in some other shows 100 times but in this show the top guy of Five-o doesn't wait behind or close by so he can handcuff him again, no he walks by not only that but the three Swat man that where securing him also walk by leaving the guy alone with her is stepdaughter... so he could grab here and use her as leverage and we have a kidnap situation all over again... or he grabs her and jumps in the water and tries to escape.

Just a very baaaaad episode.... almost forgot the crappy scene with the kid and the girl cop (really bad actress) that was so freaking lame.

Haynie
11-03-2010, 10:57 PM
You hit on every point I thought of when I was watching, Don. I was cracking up about the Russians just getting of the plane like, "awww shucks! They got us!" The worst part was that the Five-0 guys just got right in front of the door without any cover or thought that these GANGSTERS might come out shooting.

And I still can't get over the "cuffs" issue in that last scene. I haven't seen anything that stupid since Zack Morris got a 1502 on his SATs.

I like the Walking Death new series like I said there are two things I just don't like.

1.- The tipical stuff done 100 times already, Not only the wife and son of the protagonist some how survived the virus or whatever but, his bestfriend also survived and now it's bonning his wife. We've seen this thing so many times why not make it different for once.

2.- I can't grasp to the idea that the survivors live in tents on the forest, like a tent it's going to stop Zombies, they make sounds even at night Zombies would get them in a heart beat.

NewmanOwns
11-08-2010, 07:13 PM
Or when they were wiping zombie blood all over themselves and said dont let it touch your skin and then right after they have their gloves off and are rubbing against it. And you cant forget the endless pistol ammo.

The details, acting, and relative realism are lacking but its still got me entertained.

Well, it looks like the zombies are in the cities so it makes sense to me. Plus, the zombies don't move with stealth so any that do come into the woods would be easy to hear/see coming as they crush leaves/twigs under their feat.

Then make it they're all in a farm or a cabin in the woods... heck make it a group of RV's something that can at least protect them a little.

I was afraid this might happen. Mad Men and Breaking Bad are arguably the two best shows on television right now, so if a show can't get ratings just based on the rub it gets from those two then the network won't tolerate it. Definitely makes me wonder what could have been if Rubicon had picked up the pace earlier, because I'm sure it lost a lot of viewers during that time that we were all discussing dropping it.

Sorry it has been a while since I posted in this topic.

I have watched the full series of Prison Break. Finished that one a couple months ago. That show was very exciting for the first season but it got a little too crazy towards the end. I wouldn't say it's as good as LOST but I would have no problem putting it in second place behind LOST. Thanks for the tip, Adam.

I thought this last episode of Boardwalk Empire was really good. I loved the scene where Jimmy wouldn't let Nucky get away with not admitting that he's a murderer. Ever since the incident in the woods Nucky's acted like he had some kind moral superiority over Jimmy, so it was time to eat some crow. I also really liked the development in Margaret's character.

Oh, and Terriers just keeps getting better and better. The guy who plays Hank just KILLED it in this last episode with the wedding.

Is it just me, or is Hawaii Five-0 really starting to suck? Not only are the plots getting more ridiculous (this week it was a war criminal who suddenly had change of heart and a huge conspiracy you saw coming from a mile away), but now it's stopped being a cop show and is becoming more like 24. The main character basically has any resource just a phone-call away and so far appears to be trained to do anything.
