For me it came down between Austin & Witten. I voted for Witten. I know Austin had the more over-all better game and Stats. But Witten was hurt and a game time decision. I think he is such a bad ass warrior when we need him the most. I think Witten's effort and success helped open up Austin a lot in yesterday's game as well.
Of Course you can make a strong case for the Defensive unit to get a vote as well. Seems like every week now you can vote for them. I like mixing it up some each week when other players do enough to allow me to send them a vote. The Defense has won it for 3 weeks in a row now. Not that they don't deserve to win it a 4th week...But I'm giving my vote this week to Witten and feel very comfortable in doing so.

Defense had another stellar performance...can't say enough about them these past few weeks.

I went with Wade. The whole team played better as a unit. The play calling was good, Romo was on, the o-line was better, wide receivers caught the ball, running backs were stellar. The DEFENSE was huge but had allot of help because the offense kept possession of the ball allowing them to stay fresh. SPECIAL teams were stellar (with exception of Folk) as usual.

I need to check where does our defense rank in the NFL because we have been on point all year. Except maybe for the Greenbay game.

I'm surprised more people aren't voting for Spencer. He had a breakout game statistically and was the top performer on the side of the ball that played great the ENTIRE game. I guess the problems on offense made the good days for Austin, Witten, and the runners seem better than they really were.

I've got to disagree with that comment Haynie. 145 yards receiving with a touchdown isn't just a good performance... that's a dominating performance, and when you consider the guys who were covering him yesterday, it's all the more impressive. I know you're not a fan of Austin's, but gotta give credit where it's due on this one. I don't think anyone expected Austin to play that well against Asomugha. It is also by far the most yardage any receiver has gotten against the Raiders this season. I believe Jason Witten is right up there too.
The defense and especially Anthony Spencer played lights out this week like they've been doing a lot lately. Can't take anything away from them, but let's remember the Oakland Raiders are putting up a league worst 10.5 points per game.... so our defense did exactly what it should have done to them. My second vote would easily go to Spencer, but I disagree that the performances by Witten and Austin are artificially inflated.... they were great performances by any standards. New England and New Orleans fans would be saying the same thing if they had a receiver and tight end get 250+ yards together.
That said, you know who my vote goes for. I've got to piggyback on Adam though and say that Witten's performance after being questionable to even play the game is also very impressive. I just see a guy playing against a team that has Asomugha do so well and I just can't not give it to him. I don't care if every single catch he made was against another corner (it wasn't, btw), they have the best cornerback in the league on their team. If they didn't use him to cover Austin, that's their own fault. lol !

I did not expect Witten to win the votes but dang...I'm the only one to give him a vote???

I voted for Spencer. Mostly because of two reasons:
1) I have given him much flak and glad he maybe me eat crow.
2) We really need pressure from BOTH sides
3) Pressure on the QB MAKES our DB's so much better..
4) Teams with strong defenses go a long ways into the playoffs...
5) He had his best game of season- and he deserves props for it
Ok- as I started typing I came up with more than two...

First off, I don't know where you're getting that I'm not an Austin fan. I don't think I've ever said anything to merit that impression. The only thing I've ever said is that I wanted to see how he performed against upper-tier cornerbacks. He didn't show much against Green Bay or Washington, so I'm delighted to see him perform like he did against Oakland. But by my count, that means he's just 1-of-3 against quality coverage.
Second, I think you're overestimating the efficiency of Oakland's defense in the weeks prior to Thursday's game. Oakland's pass defense is only ranked 16th with 215 yards per game. So while one player may not be torching them, they're certainly getting thrown on. Even more important is that they're ranked #30 in run defense with 161 yards per game. If your run defense is that bad, it's not like teams are really going to air it out on you.
Now, you're right that Austin and Witten both put up huge individual days compared to other Oakland competitors (Vincent Jackson was the only other player to have 100 yards against them this year). But there were several 90-yard performances (DeSean Jackson, Brian Westbrook, Dwayne Bowe, Antonio Gates), so let's not get too crazy about the 100-yard mark.

That was just the impression I get Haynie. You just seem to be the first person to mention right after a game if Austin didn't have a lot of receptions/yardage, but when he does well against a reasonably good pass defense you kind of write it off by saying we're just being disillusioned by the recent poor play of our offense and that Austin/Witten's performances really aren't as good as they seem.
But I apologize if I was off-base. I still say the several 90-yard performances are a far cry from 150... but no sense in arguing about that anyway.
Again I think Spencer had a great game, but he's been playing well all along. Nobody ever notices (other than a few of us; you included) until he's putting up sexy stat-lines like sacks and interceptions. I know several of us thought he had it in him. So I was definitely happy to see him have a break-out game.
