It's nice to finally have a decent job where you can afford to buy stuff like this isn't it? I am glad you are having some fun with it. BTW...that is a very nice price for Hines Ward. The attention to detail has always amazed me with Spawn's stuff.

You mean Tod McFarlane's stuff :D I have to mess with you, Ive been a huge fan of his for years. I also have a Griffey that his company did.
Yes, its awesome to have a job that allows me to get the memorabilia that I want. Next thing you know Ill have a collection like Da Fan..........ok maybe not, LMAO!
Im getting a computer next week, but the next thing Im adding to my collection is either a Garrison Hearst UGA jersey or a Felix jersey, I cant decide.

Well thats what I was thinking, just cause I just bought 2 UGA things, lol.
This is what I was choosing between.

Ive been a Garrison Hearst fan since I can remember, hes my favorite UGA player All-Time. I was too young to watch Hershel, he graduated when I was 3, lol. Thats what makes this decision tough. Of course both together would only be $155, thats not bad. Not compaared to the $249.99 price of one authentic jersey.

I like the Jones Jersey. But If you have always wanted a Hearst Jersey then go for that one now. Felix is only just getting started. You have plenty of time to get a Felix one next year.

Next year? Who says next year, I was thinking one this paycheck and the other the next, lol.

Well then if that is what you plan on doing then just flip a coin for crying out loud. Your getting them to close together for worrying which one to get 1st then. Or save up 2 paychecks and order them both at the same time. Sheesh...problems problems.

Well see I make like $1200 a paycheck, but I want to get a computer with this one, Ill probably end up getting them both at the end of the month.

Please tell me thats not the machine you post with, hell I have my $400 laptop for that :D

Yeah it's the machine I post with. It is the Dell XPS series. It has a N64 chip set in it. I have 2 TB's of hard drive space and the latest Nvidia Geforce Graphics card that has 2GB's of Ram on it. It is a VERY fast system with the latest Creative Sound Blaster card built into it. I like it because it gave me 8 USB ports on it. 4 in the back and 4 in the front.
It came with a 21 1/2" flat screen plasma monitor. That is what I love the most about it. It is like playing video games looking through crystal clear glass. It has a thermal cooling system on it that I can set up to glow in shades of Cowboy blue and a grey/silver color. It looks sweet with the lights dimmed in my PC room. You can set it up to use the Bulldogs colors as well. I can do the Canes orange & green if I want but I am not a big fan of Green or Orange. Sometimes I think back as to why I love the Canes so much? It sure is not because of their colors...that's for sure. It is mainly because I grew up in Miami and that team was the bad @ss of the whole college system for many years. Back when Irvin played for them and were coached under Jimmy Johnson and 2 Live Crew was their Rapping group mascot. LMAO. Those were the days. Now look at them...they just suck really bad. LOL But I will always love them no matter what.
I usually get the top of the line Gaming rig every 5 years or so just to stay with current times so I can play any and all PC games I want. I love the PS3 as well and use it a lot but there are certain games like Bioshock 2 that is coming out and Fallout 3 etc that just are played best on the PC. Games like Half-Life, COD and Doom are the best on the PC.

Yeah when I get them every 5 years or so it is almost like opening up a box and having a very fine lady pop out in Her birthday suit. I drool almost as much. LOL

Well Ill never buy a whole PC again, Im just doing this for now, I like to build them, its cheaper that way. Whats the point in buying a whole new computer when you can just upgrade the one you have little by little?
My laptop I have right now only has 512 RAM, 30 GB HD, and the video card is 16 MB. Its served me well for 2 years now, but I need something better for graphics. The good thing about upgrading to a new computer is I dont need a monitor. My 26" TV doubles as a monitor, so thats a plus. Ill be able to watch TV, play PS3 games, and use my computer all on the same screen. If I want to surf the web and play on the PS3 or watch TV I have my laptop. :D

I USE TO BUILD ALL MY pc'S AS WELL. i STARTED BACK WHEN I WAS 18. I WOULD NEVER BUY ONE ALREADY PUT TOGETHER FOR ME. SO I GET WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM ERIC. ACTUALLY IF YOU STILL HAVE THE PATIENCE AND TIME TO DO SO I RECOMEND KEEP DOING IT THAT WAY. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE VERY COMPUTER SAVY AND STAY EDUCATED AND UPTODATE WITH TODAY'S TECHNOLOGY BY DOING SO.
Sorry for all the caps my Caps Lock was on and I am not retyping that all over again. LOL. Anyways I do not have the time nor patience to build them like I use to especially with a 6 year old running around taking up most of my time. Also I work with a Buddy of mine now for a living repairing other peoples PC's on a regular basis. So the last thing I want to do anymore is come home and build my own. LOL
My best friend out in Cali works for Dell and He always sets me up when it is time to get a new one. He throws in all the bells and whistles for me when I go to get a new one. So I am set so-to-speak. I have been buying Dells for years now and I have NEVER once had a problem of magnitude ever with any of their PC's. For a company that mass produces PC's they do an outstanding job as far as I am concerned.
Their biggest competition use to be AlienWare but they have both kind of merged together in certain aspects so their really is no competition that comes close to them anymore. The closest would be Falcon Northwest. Who makes great PC's but they are way over priced. Just try to stay away from HP PC's. They break down a lot and use rebuilt parts a lot and sell them as new with out the consumer knowing it. HP's are great for Printers but not so good with the PC itself.

I wish I could afford an Alienware computer, if I were getting a gaming computer that would be it.
CowboyzAdam
09-04-2009, 08:55 PM
Like I said...AlienWare is basically now Dell anyways. They merged for the most part. Dell bought them out. They still go by AlienWare because so many people recognize the AlienWare name.

Ummmmm, not really, Alienware just agreed to allow Dell to put some of their hardware in their computers so that they could sell them at a cheaper price. The higher up Alienware's have nothing to do with Dell.

Well we are both right to an extent. You are correct that AlienWare is still selling their high end systems under their AlienWare name. AlienWare still owns their name and still gets profits from their high end systems. But AlienWare went to Dell for Help. Their profits have been falling for some years now. The Founder Of Dell is very good friends with the founder of AlienWare.
The two actually went to school together and at one time opened up their first shop together making a game rig simply called "The Box." What a strange name eh? It was really ugly too. But at the time it was top of the line when it first came out many many years ago. It's demise was the price. At the time it was a head of it's time and most people other than the rich could not afford it.
The two went separate ways after that remaining great friends. One wanted to head up and launch a Super PC corporation (Dell). The other wanted to concentrate on Gaming Rigs as their specialty. (AlienWare)
Both have been very successful. But AlienWare has taken a pretty big financial hit the last 3 years and the last 3 quarters has been the worst. It is not because of their systems but because of the hard times society has been suffering through. People are just not buying high end gaming PC's anymore. or not enough to keep AlienWare a float when they rely heavily on High end rigs as their main source of income.
So Both buddies put their heads together to see what they could come up with. So AlienWare partnered with Dell like you said to get some cheaper Gaming rigs out there with combined hardware in the systems. It was a very smart idea and one that has helped AlienWare out of the hole so-to-speak.
Because of the long time friendship between the 2 founders they agreed to not have it a Corporation take over on Dells part. Who could buy them out easily if they wanted to. They agreed to have a partnership and keep AlienWare it's own company with the hopes of getting up and strong again. So when the economy turns itself around they can hope that their high end systems will start to sell once again.
So that is the whole story to the best of my knowledge. How do I know all of this? Like I told you. I work repairing PC's and making PC's for a living now with a good friend of mine. I am in contact with both corporations all the time. I order parts through them all the time. I talk to the employees of these companies all the time. Actually as it sits right now most parts you order for any AlienWare PC's if you pay attention you will find you are talking through the Dell parts department.
If you want to purchase a full scale high end AlienWare rig you will have to call AlienWare direct. So Mr. Eric you have part of it right. A lot of the info I just told you the average person does not know and never will know...because they don't want people knowing their financial business for fear it will have a negative effect on consumers shying away from purchasing AlienWare. They fear people will think the company is on hard times and will not be around in the future for support or warranty issues.
Which is crazy because like you said Eric AlienWare is one hell of a PC system. My second Gaming rig was a AlienWare. They have the sickest towers around. My next one will probably be an AlienWare. I like to alter each time I purchase a new one. it is just fun that way.
