This might be a nice insurance pickup if T-New is really hobbled. He's older, but had 4 picks last year.

If we wanted a 34 year old CB, we probably would have kept Glenn.
To his credit, he has started all 16 games 4 years in a row.

That's pretty funny in a sad sort of way and true as well!

Why release a guy one day before the regular season starts?
He made the 53-man roster, but the Pats release one day before the first day?
Do they maybe know something?

So they don't have to guarantee him his entire salary for the year by being on the opening day roster.

Okay, if he is that old and it is a salary issue. Why even let him on the 53-man roster? Why not cut him earlier?
Still does not make sense to me. If salary was the issue, release him and not put him on your 53 man roster.

My guess is that the Pats are hopeing that everyone else is set at his position so he clears waivers and then they can resign him without the roster bonus next week.
I think that is what Jerry was hopeing with Glenn, but that didn't work out so well. Maybe we could luck into an insurance policy ourselves here and mess up the Pats plans!
or maybe he is no longer usefull and the Pats know it.
What the heck, bring him in for a look-see!

There is nothing wrong with us taking a look at him. We just have to not keep wanting us to sign everyone who is cut or released out there. This guy is worth a look at least IMO.
Hello this my first reply ,I've read a lot of these dicussion and they really help kill some time at work. Ok to the subject I dont think he has to clear waiver because of his tenure. I"ll be quit honest I dont really remember much about him but could'nt be much worst than the back-ups we have.

Hey rgoyle. I'm glad you decided to post after reading for a while. Welcome Welcome. Please do post more. The more interaction we have on this board the better. I also agree that it cannot hurt to at least take a look at him. Looking at him in no way links us to him. So if he is something worth grabbing then how could we go wrong?

The way I look at it is, A.B.J.R. - Anybody but Jacques Reeves. I have no faith in the guy, nor do I with Nate Jones. I think we need to grab an insurance policy and I don't care if they're 3 or 4, or 34.

Burress owned Reeves and Williams tonight...his last TD was just an icing on the cake to prove that...other teams will key in on the mismatch and try to exploit it until the T-man comes back....hopefully soon..

Reeves did fine. Like we all said already...he made some mistakes but he played a lot better than we thought he would. Give the guy a break. He made a hell of a TD break up in the end zone towards the mid 4th quarter. It was Roy that looked awful. Burress did not "own" Reeves so quit over reacting.

How many times is Reeves going to have to cover a 6'5", 230 lb. receiver? I mean, do you guys realize what a unique mismatch Buress creates for almost ANY corner? I thought Reeves hung in there very well considering the physical limitations when he was one-on-one. Two of those three scores came when Burress became a safety's assignment. The first score was on Henry and Hamlin.

THANK YOU Haynie. Reeves is not Newman but Reeves did a fine job. Before the game everyone was saying he was going to be a joke out there...me included. He proved me wrong and I am happy as heck that he did.

Reeves did a good job at times, but unfortunately for him, he has to play well on every play or the team gets burned.
I like Reeves as a nickel back, just not as a starter...well, not tonight.

So if Tnew has problems all year.. or looks like it, do we bring back glenn at league minium for insureance?? he knows what to do.. is just a step slower.. let the young ones play.. but have him for the help and experience.

I'm not overreacting at all, Adam. You can chalk Reeves with an interception, but you better credit Burress for it. If you watched the game, J.R. was playing so far off all night and would still let up the deep ball at times. He made one break up that you can really speak of, I think that says it all.

My bad.. I even knew that lol.. ok.. I am just leaving no stone unturned.. lol..
When you have no pass rush, even on a blitz I dont care if Newmans was out there a big receiver has the advantage. Where is this swarming D we were promised that was one sad sad Defense. :(

At this point in the season there simply is not any hero's we are going to find out there that we can get that will come in and bail us out. We have to suck it up and improve with what we've got. Life sucks sometimes and injuries happen to all teams. They have to do some soul searching or whatever it takes and get this fixed. Period. No one is going to bail them out so they must find a way to fix it within themselves.
Overall I think the team look a little outa sync. I know this sounds funny but some times I think we score to fast and the defense is back on the field with only a few minutes to rest. I know you want to score when you can but remember in the 90's we drove the ball down the field slowly killing time and wearing defense's down. Oh by the way J.J. is not I repeat not our future r.b I cant believe how easy he goes down. Just my opinons

Yeah and then the moron runs out of bounds when we are trying to run the clock out. I'm sorry but there is just not a thing that is impressing me of him. I am so over him already.

Bradie James was on Sirius NFL today, and he sounded very optimistic about the D. Basically, he said that this was the first time that they were all playing together (i.e., Reeves, Hamlin, Spencer and Jones on the Nickel). He also said that a lot of what happened were little things that they can fix and already know how to based on watching the film. He sounded very pleased with how Reeves played.
Maybe he was just being a company man, but it made me feel a little better.
I dont think 457 yard(or something like that) and 35 pts is any thing small!!! They have alot of work to do and not just some "little things". You cant let a rookie nobody run on you like that.
