Glenn missed in locker room

LOUIS DeLUCA / DMN

Nobody asked Roy Williams whether Aaron Glenn should be cut. And Williams isn't happy that the locker to his left is empty all the sudden.

"[Hacked] me off," Williams said.

Williams was most vocal in expressing his displeasure that Glenn is gone. Several Cowboys said the 14-year veteran getting cut was a surprise. It's a unanimous opinion that Glenn's leadership will be missed.

"I think he was an asset for us with his wisdom and his knowledge of the game, and the way he took care of the young guys," said Williams, who considered Glenn the team's third-best cornerback. "We learned a lot from him."

Added Jacques Reeves, who moved up the depth chart with Glenn's departure: "He was a professional, a guy you could learn from, not just on the field but off the field."

Yeah I am still not getting this yet. You have a weakness with Newman being injured and then you go and cut Glenn. If there is a plan B then it sure would be nice to see it now.

It's always the same story though. Veteran player, who is well respected, gets cut and everybody is pissed. There comes a time when you gotta make a move. Either Wade does have a Plan B, or he just likes the younger guys better.

I've been a Cowboys fan for 37 years and I can't figure out why in the world The Boys would cut Glenn.

we just have to hope this does not leave a bad taste for too long in the locker room.

Better now then after the actual season starts. I think its pretty obvious what happened, he was simply too old to play another entire season in the nickle or as a backup. They didn't want to make the cut until they were absolutly sure about it, but in doing so now, they gave him a chance to go be a 3rd CB somewhere else. Come on now guys, Wade knows how to manage the Defense!

I loved it when we picked him up but 14 years is a long time to play what most say is the hardest position on the field AND still be able to come in and start if there is an injury, no matter how good you are.

So All About The D you are then saying that you think Reeves is right now a better player than Glenn? I could be wrong because I am not there but I just have a hard time buying that right now. I sure hope Reeves proves me wrong.
