The Dallas Cowboys have met extensively with this wide receiver from the Pac 10 in the weeks leading up to the 2009 NFL Draft.

Continuing to look for help on offense, the Dallas Cowboys recently met extensively with Southern California wide receiver Patrick Turner (http://dal.scout.com/a.z?s=112&p=8&c=1&nid=3838325), TheRanchReport.com has learned.

Patrick Turner, the 6-5, 221-pound receiver attracts plenty of attention when walking around off the football field, but when he steps on the field, he makes for a fantastic target for his quarterbacks.

Turner certainly has confidence from his time at USC, as he played in four BSC bowl games as winning was something that was just expected at Pete Carroll’s monster program.

“We were the best team in the country,” Turner said without hesitation in a recent interview with Scout.com. “We really feel that we’re the best team and going into any game we feel that we’re not going to lose. We really prepare hard out there and you learn a lot from the coaching staff. We feel like the sky’s the limit and we can’t be stopped, really.”

Turner was one of several go-to guys in the powerful USC offense as he caught 45 passes for 667 yards, and an eye-popping 10 touchdowns, with a team that loves to run the ball and spread it around in the passing game.

Turner obviously has great size, but he has surprising speed and quickness off the line, and was one of the very best route runners in Senior Bowl practice. Turner obviously felt comfortable in the all-star type of environment, as he practiced against the best defense in the nation while at USC.

“We have a lot of elite competition (at USC), and coming out here it’s the same thing,” Turner said. “You have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, I feel this season and my four years at SC has really helped me to get to where I’m at, and really prepared me for this week.”

Turner is currently ranked as the No. 20 wide receiver available in this year's draft according to Scout.com.

The Cowboys are looking for help at wide receiver after releasing veteran Terrell Owens last month.

I heard he is slow off the line and will most likely bust like the guy Detroit picked number 2...I forgot his name...maybe Mike Wallace or Williams

What I have seen of Turner does not show the guy being slow off the line at all. Actually the complete opposite. He is VERY fast off the line.

Footspeed is not everything, Bol;din ran 4.6 something when he came out and I bet we all would take him now.

Well, I like the guys height, but Id rather have Dillard, Wallace, Knox, or Tate.

You already know I like Dillard as well.

Eric we called him quick because the pro scouts say he is. They see it first hand..

Oh ok, I didnt mean to ruffle any feathers, lol. I agree with Larry Brown though, whoever we get a WR in the draft needs to be able to return also. I like Barden, but we all know hes no returner. Now, I dont think that Dillard is either, but you cant deny his route running skills.
