Not impressed...but ok.
Two additions
The Cowboys claimed linebacker Justin Rogers off waivers from New England and cornerback Evan Oglesby off waivers from Baltimore. To make room, they cut safety Abram Elam and Alan Ball.
Rogers played at SMU and was making a switch from college defensive end to outside linebacker in the Patriots' 3-4 scheme. He had two sacks in the preseason and the Patriots wanted to put him on their practice squad. With Greg Ellis' injury, he might be needed in the opener vs. the Giants.
Oglesby spent parts of the previous two seasons with Baltimore, playing in 19 games.
Cutting Elam is a difficult choice because he is an excellent special teams player. Ball could be brought back to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Where do you think Oglesby will fit in the rotation?? Is he good enough to start in the nickle? Don't know that much about him...

I'm with you on the not being impressed part Joe. I am very unimpressed.
Who are these guys? For that you may as well have kept Joey Thomas or even Elam for that matter.

same here, why cut those two for two more unknowns? I guess the guy from new england has to be considered the better of the two but I guess we'll have to wait and see and see how these guys practice. I hope neither of these two or anyone of their caliber are who the cowboys were using spears as tradebait for if that rumor is in fact true.

Did the Cowboys add Ball to the practice squad?

I looked up Oglesby and all he has is 16 tackles to his name. I don't know about you but that doesn't make me feel any better about the secondary.

I want to know how fast he is and what his cover skills are.

What I do know is that he played in 16 games for Baltimore last season, and their defense wasn't too shabby. So he couldn't have been an awful corner letting up many big plays. I don't even know much about him and I'll already put him in the starting line-up before Reeves or Jones.

Sounds like that makes sense to me BSchank but for the Giants game it is going to be Reeves that gets the start if Newman doesn't go. That is what they are reporting right now anyways.

And you can bet Plexico is slobbering at the mouth knowing he is going against a guy that has 1 NFL start to his credit. On a side note though; Do you guys realize that even when T New is healthy, when teams run their 3 or 4 WR sets Reeves and Nate Jones are going to be the ones out there covering the other WR's.. I don't care if the other WR's are practice squad guys. They will get open on them or at least draw a pass interference on them. (because they never look back for the ball)

I beg to differ on Plexi-glass slobbering as he will face Henry since that was one of the reasons why they signed him as we go against the bigger Wr's of the league
Glenn has seen his better days, he's short and no longer has the closing speed he used to. I think you've got to have a little faith in the coaches on this one. They've seen how the guys have progressed now for 7 weeks, Glenn couldn't cut it anymore and Reeves is just better at this point.
