They were talking about the cuts that are about to be announced, and just heard the Cowboys are looking to move Marcus Spears for a cornerback with an undisclosed team right now.[/b]

Not sure if I like this...better be a corner that can start right away...hate to see a 1st rounder 2 years removed traded...

no way this happens this is BS hot off the rumor mill
May be BS but for a high end corner I'm loving this rumor...
Okay here is a question to think about...If were to trade Spears what corners would be targeting in this trade?

I don't know how true this is either and it could be BS and it could be true. I am however going to post about it as if it were true. I could be OK with this if it was done right. By saying that I mean we would have to be getting a proven CB that we know can step in now with little time having to be spent on learning things.
Right now if you were to ask most Cowboy fans I know they would have to admit that they are disappointed in what Spears has shown us so far. That is not to say that if he stays under Wade's new system that he could not flourish. The problem to weight here is the need of a CB for us due to how thin we are behind Newman against losing Spears all together but knowing we have Hatcher to replace him.
Hatcher coming in to replace Spears makes me feel a heck of a lot better than having to play a bunch of games without any solid player to cover for Newman if he can't go.
We will have to watch this one closely to see where it goes.

Spears hasn't exactly been a playmaker. Heck, I remember him more for switching into the offense as a goal line fullback then for any other awesome plays on the defense. Its true that he could develop...blah blah, but for a solid (important) younger cornerback, I'm open to the trade.

I would welcome moving SPears and adding a corner hopefully with some experience..But who? This may be a true rumor since they let go A.Glenn. LEt's hopr for the best...

It would have to be someone young, someone already starting in the league. This person would fill the void for Newman this year, a game or two, and play in nickel, maybe even replace Henry down the line. So, yes, this would be an interesting trade, and as far as which corners, I have no idea.
It seems like a rumor though, but today's strange cuts do give it some legs. Why do our woes keep coming up on the defense every year?

Well no one is saying go ahead and pull the trigger first and foremost. Second...Spears has been a disappointment so far. Third...Hatcher has been a pleasant surprise and just may push Spears to have to fight to keep his starting Role.

I would trade Spears since Bowen and Hatcher seem to be better pass rushers.

I am definitly with this rumor. A good idea and maybe that explains glenn being cut. I'm going to be watching this like a vulture on roadkill.

I would hate to lose Spears, but the cuts really have me shaking my head today. The CB's are EXTREMELY thin and there better be a plan B that we all don't know about and maybe this is it. When is the deadline for something like this to happen? I would imagine our deadline would be sometime today for someone to come in and learn our system.
I sure hope they know what they are doing....

I want to see how Spears does in Wade's Defense.

Spears hasn't done much so far, even in preseason you'd think he would show a little something. Anyways, I heard we're in the process of trading Spears for Champ Bailey... seems like a fair trade. ;)

sounds more like a drug deal that will go bad for them.

Would be open to trading Marcus Spears if it was for someone like Quentin Jammer! Spears is replacable and I would like to see someone like Jammer in our secondary or in the nickel as opposed to Jacques Reeves. Hell I would ideally like Jammer and Newman on the corners with Williams and hamlin as safeties and henry as the nickel! LOL! Still for what we paid for Henry I doubt it!

I just read on pro football weekly that the Jets might be trying to trade starter Andre Dyson, because Revis has been so good this pre season
