TEMPE, Ariz. -- Rookie linebacker Buster Davis was among 21 players cut Friday as the Arizona Cardinals reduced their roster to the 53-man limit. Davis was Arizona's third-round draft pick out of Florida State and was signed to a three-year, $1.7 million contract.
This actually surprised me. He was projected as the #3 ILB behind seasoned veterans, Gerald Hayes and Karlos Dansby. He ran a fast 4.6 at the combine.
Expect the 49ers to claim him off of waivers as they coveted him and were actually high on drafting him in the second round.
