Neighbors say Strahan headed east

The New York Daily News snooped around Michael Strahan's neighborhood in California to try to figure out if the Giants' divorced defensive end will play against the Cowboys.

The manager of Strahan's favorite juice bar hasn't seen Strahan in a while, so that must mean he's headed back to the East Coast. It'll be a shocker if Strahan doesn't suit up for the season opener.

The reporter apparently didn't ask the manager the most important question: Does Strahan drink his smoothies through a straw placed between his front teeth?

Other developments around the NFC East:

Eagles: Backup QB A.J. Feeley broke a bone in his left (non-throwing) hand. ... Donovan McNabb is completely healthy. How long will that last?

Giants: The Giants made it though their final preseason game without suffering any significant injuries. ... Eli Manning looked good against the Patriots' scrubs.

Redskins: Is old man gibbs still a good coach? ... QB Jason Campbell returned from a knee injury to lead a scoring drive against the Jags. Campbell and the rest of the starters were on the bench by the second quarter.

No surprise about Strahan.

I knew that he wanted to play but just did not want to attend camp.

As we thought, as soon as camp and the preseason is over, all of the sudden he wants to play again.

If I was a Head Coach, there's no way I would start a player that sat out all off-season, training camp and pre-season. It would definitely send the wrong message as an organization.
