Hatcher for sure. Keeping it plain and simple...He gets my vote on Heart alone.
Spears has been a disappointment to me so far.

Hatch by far.. Spears just does not get it done.
One series Hatcher almost sacked the QB three times.. had very close pressure on all three plays.

Yeah, I agree. Its looking like Spears is going to be a bust for us. I mean, nothing has really changed, he's not pressuring the QB in this new system, and just answers a lot for me. To me, Hatcher played better than Spears when he got the chance, and I think this year, Hatcher has stepped it up more and is clearly the better player.

Here I go again...against the grain.
I said Spears. Hatcher had a great game last night, no doubt. But he was essentially playing against guys fighting for a roster spot on the Vikings practice squad.
Spears has a but more time playing against first string offenses and I believe he is a sleeping giant awaiting to be wakened.
But that giant may awaken in 10 days. We have not seen this defense yet. Most of the defense formations and blitz packages were not even used or exposed in pre-season, so as not to tip thier hand to our divison foes. We are not going to give them game film to study on before the regular season starts. We will see a different team take the field next Sunday.
And when the regular season starts we will see what the Phillips 34 really looks like. And Spears will flourish!

Spears. I want to see how Wade is going to use our former first round pick.

I'm with the Spears crowd. It's Year 3, and the preseason was no fair measurement of Spears' development. This is definitely the last time anyone will vouch for him, though. He deserves the chance, but it's his last.
(Stephen Jackson for Spears and Julius... who DOESN'T make that trade now? What was worse, Ellis over Moss or Julius/Spears over Jackson? It's become very debatable.)

Nope it is Hatcher. I'll let you Spear dreamers keep on hoping while us Hatcher fans Laugh while we drink our beers. LOL...just messing with you guys.
In all fairness Spears does deserve to get one more chance now under Wade's system. Sink or swim Spears.

right now I'd say Hatcher as Spears has two years starting under his belt. I'd like to see what Hatcher can do.

Hey I did say in my 1st post that I would prefer to go with Hatcher over Spears right now. I just understand MCAJE's thinking in wanting to see how Spears plays under Wade's new system. But if I had to make a choice between the 2 it would be Hatcher I would go with.

i voted hatch.
spears just plain hasn't showed me anything in the 2 years he's been here. on the other hand, hatch as shown up and has been in there 1/3rd of the time.
granted, hatch has made a lot of plays as a nickel de, but still. i seriously doubt spears could have produced the way hatch did in the nickel.
i'd be fine with seeing spears hit the bench in favor of hatch. but as haynie and others have said... spears deserves one last chance. let's revisit this topic in 3 weeks.
