View Full Version : Presidential Debate.....?

Did you guys watch the debate tonight....? Sen. McCain brought up the Cardinals win against Dallas during the debate. Man I thought I heard enough of the crap this week and to turn on the TV and hear it again...Man they are acting like the Cards had won the Super Bowl...!

BigT
10-16-2008, 03:35 AM
No, their super bowl was when the Cardinals beat Dallas in the playoffs ten years ago. Instead of champion banners hanging in their rafters they can have banners for every time they beat Dallas. That would be better than nothing.

Yeah i was just kiddin.

Im McCain/Palin all the way!

GREAT video. He speaks the truth that SO MANY people are blind and ignorant to.

Its too bad people a lot of people are voting by the person and what they are instead of what they stand for. I.E. Obama is getting a lot of votes simply because he is African-American. Thats why I loved that video you just posted because he is telling people to vote not just because they are basically blindly born and raised Democrat and he is showing it is ok to be Republican. Also, too bad that people want "anything other than Bush" because McCain also represents CHANGE like Obama is pressing.

If Obama wins, I fear for our country. And I'm going to keep my guns loaded.

Obama is going to win this thing on eloquence and the votes of the uneducated and ignorant. That's not to say that smart, informed people won't vote for Obama. There are plenty of things he differs on from McCain which they could understandably be swayed by. However, when you think about all of those people out there who are suddenly interested in politics for the first time in their lives, their interest is based totally on the novelty of Obama's race and personality. They don't understand economics or international relations well enough to know what his campaign is truly saying, but they just like the way he talks. He's convinced them that we can fix this country by chasing down the end of a rainbow and catching unicorns.

I'm not pro-McCain, but I'm definitely anti-Obama.

Well all I can say is if Obama wins, and we "surrender" in Iraq, start looking for suicide bombers again in this country. How can this country be so blind? Im VERY pro-Bush, I dont care what anyone says, hes getting a lot of flack for no reason at all.

Now with that said, weve elected 2 presidents in a row with NO war experience to run our military. We are at war now, do we want to make that mistake again? John McCain endured 5 years of torture for this country, has Obama even been in the Cub Scouts? Not only that but he VOLUNTEERED for a second tour in Vietnam.

This nation is in recession, is taxing it to death going to help? Does this nation not know that during Clinton's administration we were headed towards a depression, yet hes credited with boosting the economy, hmmmm. I agree with Alonzo on the fact that, if it actually were a law to have to pay income tax (dont believe me that its not go here http://www.freedomtofascism.com/ ), it should only be a 10% tax across the board. God only asks 10% of us, why should our government ask more?

Dont EVEN get me started on abortion, only God has the right to take ANY life, PERIOD.

Theres another video called "The Vote Reaper" that Alonzo did, where in one part he calls out those that call Republicans "War Mongrels". Well who knows the party that held office in WW1, WW2, and the Vietnam war? All Democrat. What I cant seem to wrap my head around is people that cant support our troops and think that they were brain washed or something into going over into to Iraq. Trust me, they knew what they were doing. They enlisted to protect this country, they knew what they were doing.

I say go ahead and drill in our own country. All these people that say we are in a war for oil (which is not true) wouldnt even have that leg to stand on had we been drilling here to begin with.

All this Liberal crap makes me sick. If you plan on voting Obama JUST to have the first African-American president, then I hope you are happy with the result. Im not a racist in ANY way, I just know the truth about the party that hes aligned with. If Powell were to run Id vote for him in a heart beat. Obama is NOT who we need in office.

Not like it matters, but We just had an election up here. non eventful, pointless election and will have one in 2 years anyway. I hate my Prime minister, his a real rat, and an idiot to boot. He called an election because he saw the poles had a majority for the Conservative party and what did he get, another pointless minority government. So I voted as a defiant vote because no party looked good, I voted for the green party as a defiant vote.

Anyway I have kept track to your guys election coming up in I think November.

Eric I agree with you 100%. Your views on the political plain are very similar to mine.

OK I have to say this now. I moved this thread to this section of the forum because I think it is a good debate. Especially now with Nov voting right around the corner. I don't expect everyone in here to view the world in the same manner. If that were so then we wouldn't have different parties. I will allow this debate on Politics to continue as long as you member's like.

1. As long as we remain respectful to each other.
2. As long as we don't bring Race into it.
3. As long as there is no personal attacks for different views and no bashing going on.

If we can all do that then debate away. We all know how sensitive politics can be. So please bare that in mind when discussing Political topics.

And what is Obama going to do? All i hear is "CHANGE".

What makes Obama the better candidate for cleaning this up? Why NOT McCain? Just because he is a Republican doesn't mean he has the same policies.

Obama is going to turn us into a socialist country. He wants to take from the hard workers and give to those who dont want to work. The days of earning what you work for are going to be over.

He is going to kill small businesses with his taxes. This whole "Joe the plumber" guy is going to bring a lot of things to light on this matter.

You sir are a PRIME example of what being uninformed is. It takes 4 years for a presidents work to start to show any fruit. Four years after Bush sr. was president Clinton came in. Clinton benefited from the economy that BUSH setup, not Clinton himself. People should educate themselves on these types of things before they start running off about things they know nothing about. As I posted, I cant stand ignorance.

Before you vote democrat please watch the video links Ive posted before and if you dont like that, then watch this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPG25Wf0aa4

Im sorry if I come off negative, I dont mean to, but when it comes to my country Im VERY passionate. I dont want the damn Democrats ruining my livelihood just because you cant see the light. Dont fall into their brain washings, dont be another uneducated person that votes not knowing what they are voting for. This country doesnt need Obama or the Democrats, what it needs is tax breaks, not raises. What happens when a Democrat gets in office and raises taxes? How will that create jobs? How will that stimulate the economy? We barely have money now, then the government is going to take more? Make sense of that, I beg you. How can poor people on warefare stimulate the economy?

I mean I totally grasp why some people want a Democratic president. Must be nice to sit on your butts and collect a check for nothing. Then turn around and point a finger at the Republican party and call them wrong for making you get a job. I mean, wouldnt we all love to sit on our butts and collect a check for no work. Just one TINY problem there, SOMEONE HAS TO WORK TO PAY THE TAX DOLLARS TO TAKE CARE OF THOSE LAZY BUTT PEOPLE. So you go ahead and vote Obama, Ill be moving to Canada. Have fun with that aftermath.

All I 'm going to say is once again Eric I do agree with you 100%. We see eye to eye exactly on this. So do most my friends and Community where I live as well as my whole Family. We are pretty passionate as well. You have to take a stand for the Country you live in. I will however say that in this thread I will be careful to not bash the democratic view of things. I am not going to take an open mind to them because I strongly disagree with their views and cannot stand Obama who is nothing but an eloquent speaker which talk does nothing to fix things. His record compared to McCain's is laughable IMO. He could so easily pull out his Birth record and prove he is an American Citizen (Which I'm not saying he isn't) but it is stupid and silly when you know it is being questioned openly to not just prove it and be done with it. It makes you wonder why is he not doing so?

Anyway the only advice I can say to each side is I hope you have really taken the time to learn about each candidate. I hope you understand what both really believe in and you have compared them to your views on life. I hope you have watched the debates and have educated yourselves going into this next Presidential elections. If you have then make sure you go out and vote. Regardless of what side you are on MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT! If you don't then you will not have the right to bitch about a thing.

In Closing no matter who wins...I hope God Blesses Us All And America.

Completely agree, I swear some people would elect Satan himself president as long as that meant having the first African-American president, and the other majority thinks that just having a Democrat is going to solve everything. How can people be so blind? At the very least, how is raising taxes going to stimulate the economy?

Democrats = BIG Government Republican = small Government

Just look at the names of the different parties, dont you people know what Republicans are for? Do you even know what a Republic is? The ONLY party that if for the PEOPLE is the Republican party. Ive said this before and Ill repeat it, if Democrats take over this country Ill probably try to leave. In 4 years youll know why. This is more serious than a lot of people let on, and theyd rather lead this country into the death of democracy rather than taking a serious look at the issues.

Yeah, on that note Adam, I watched the final debate last night on YouTube, and Im still trying to figure out how McCain supposedly lost. I mean, he pointed out one thing that really jumped at me. We tax our businesses higher than most countries. His example was Ireland, they have an 11% tax on big business there, we however have a 35% tax on our big business. You wanna know why we dont have jobs, thats why. When employers cant afford to pay their employees because the government is taking it from them, then we have a problem. Obama wants to raise that even higher and "spread the wealth". I know for a lot of people that sounds really good. In reality all hes saying is that for those of you that worked your ass off to get where you are, were going to tax you to death to pay for Welfare for those too lazy to get a damn job.

Once again, Obama voted in favor of NOT giving a child any type of care if it survived an abortion. What kind of monster is he? Who would want a man like that president? I could go Republican vs Democrat all day long, but the real question is, Freedom or Communism?

What makes no sense is being in Iraq in the first place. People there will never change. Yes this country is desperate for change. Mcain doesnt necessarily represent change he just wants to reconstruct bush's plan, but hes a bush supporter. Bush is probably the worst president this country has ever witnessed and anyone who supports his outrageous plans should not be president.

1. He's pro war.
2. He's anti-gay rights.
3. He's a total idiot on the economy.
4. He's old
5. He voted for use of military force in Iraq. Supported Bush veto of war spending bill that would have withdrawn most U.S. troops by March 2008. He was an early proponent of sending additional American troops to Iraq.
6. When we're paying more than $4 a gallon for gas, McCain wants to spend $1.2 billion on a tax break for Exxon Mobil
7. He has been endorsed by George W. Bush, for president. Bush stated that McCain has the "character, courage and perseverance" to lead the country.(where's the punch line?)
8. He's willing to sacrifice investments in health care, education, energy, an infrastructure to allow for tax breaks for big corporations and wealthy CEOs.
9. In a recent speech, he said 'I will veto every beer' instead of every bill. We, Americans, need our beer. Get it right, McCain. You suck!
11. He has plans to make zero exceptions for a woman's right to choose --even in cases of rape, incest, or to protect the life of the mother
12. He's against the life-saving possibilities of stem cell research.
13. He has no plans to protect equal pay for equal work.
14. McCain voted 19 times against raising minimum wage.
15. If Palin was to step up to President if McCain was to croak as he is expected to within 5 years.......this country would be going straight to hell. That is the last person who should be in office. She's terrible.

We dont need to withdraw from Iraq, if we did that would create a "power vacuum" and in turn would have undone ANYTHING that weve done over there.

Please explain to me how we have the right to take a life. EVERY, not SOME not a FEW not a COUPLE, EVERY life is a gift from God what makes you so great that you can decide to take it? God gave you a gift and you go and kill it. Yes rape is bad, did the kid rape you? Yes incest is bad, did the kid commit incest against you? So you can condone killing a baby to save the mother? The mother that has had a chance at some life, verses a kid that never had a chance. Wow, you are really making great points there.

You can find the same "life saving" stem cells in adults, they have taken stem cells from diabetics and cured them. THEIR OWN STEM CELLS. Please educate yourself.

Again on the minimum wage, when they rasie it they raise the tax on big business, so in turn you get less hours because they cant afford to pay you that wage. Another great point.

I love how you attack Palin, especially after bringing up equal rights. Palin has done fine in one of the most important states in the union, if you cant respect what shes done then you know nothing about politics.

If you really wanna get into gay rights, you know that will end up in a religious debate. Im not afraid to stand up and say that Im a Christian. I also will stand up and say that being gay is a sin against God and your own body. Its a sinful, self fulfilling, lifestyle. Now with that said, they deserve the same rights that any other human does. Where those rights end is marriage. I dont care what you say, marriage is a man and a woman. A family is a mom, dad, and kids. Mom and mom cant have biological kids, dad and dad cant reproduce. Im sure that will lead to you bringing up aadoption, but gay marriages MUST adopt, heterosexual marriages have to have a problem in order to NEED adoption. Of course, according to your party, adoption isnt an option at all BECAUSE YOU ARE KILLING THE UNWANTED CHILDREN.

Of course that bring up another point, there are NO unwanted babies. Im sure there are parents out there that would LOVE to have that baby. Who are we to take the life of a baby, when we ourselves have been given a chance to live. Thats a tad hypocritical. You know war, poverty, education, and economy dont matter when you are killing off the next generation. Abortion has taken 40,000,000 lives. Thats genocide, how can you defend that?

Im Eric Taylor and I approve this message.

1. He's pro war.
He's not pro war. No sane man WANTS war, and he has said it himself that he would avoid war if he could. He knows that we should use the force when necessary. I fear for our country's safety with Obama at the helm, what does HE know about military. By the way Obama said yes to the war in Afghanistan, just not the war in Iraq, so by your thinking, you can call him pro-war.

2. He's anti-gay rights.
Anti-gay marriage. There's millions in our country that believe the same. Marriage is defined as between a man and a woman and i believe it should stay like that.

3. He's a total idiot on the economy.
Please elaborate. Do you say this because the propaganda told you so? I dont see whats wrong with his economic plan compared to Obama's who wants to redistribute the wealth because he thinks the government knows how to spend our money better than ourselves.

4. He's old
Please. If anything that has made him wiser and more experienced.

5. He voted for use of military force in Iraq. Supported Bush veto of war spending bill that would have withdrawn most U.S. troops by March 2008. He was an early proponent of sending additional American troops to Iraq.
Obama and his military ignorance were against the troop surge which has actually been EXTREMELY successful and has put us in the lead in the war.

If we didn't go in there, we would have left a breeding ground for terrorists. This is a war on terror we are in and if that reaches to Iraq, then we need to take them out as well. The accusations of "war for oil", etc. are insane and ignorant. We also need a strong presence of Democracy over there so it will help the fight on terror. If we can get these 2 countries to go democracy, we will have a leg up in the overall big picture. I hope you know how thankful those people are, do you know how many people were liberated from the oppression that existed there. Stop being so selfish and show some affection to people of another country that aren't as fortunate to live in the USA. Just remember WW2, if no one stepped in there, the genocide would have been even greater than it was and the world would have been worse off.

6. When we're paying more than $4 a gallon for gas, McCain wants to spend $1.2 billion on a tax break for Exxon Mobil
He also has many other solutions to the oil crisis including drilling offshore and less importation of oil. What is it Obama supports now? He has been flip flopping on that since day 1.

7. He has been endorsed by George W. Bush, for president. Bush stated that McCain has the "character, courage and perseverance" to lead the country.(where's the punch line?)
I think McCain has proven enough in his life that he has character, courage, and perseverance. Just look at his vietnam imprisonment and read up on his story if you havent heard it.

8. He's willing to sacrifice investments in health care, education, energy, an infrastructure to allow for tax breaks for big corporations and wealthy CEOs.
Not true, what are you referring to? For health care, universal health care is the worst thing they can do. All the welfare bottom feeders and illegal immigrants are going to take advantage of that. Anyways, there has to be sacrifices to some of those programs, you cant just fix everything. Just because Obama uses some fancy words and says he can do whatever, doesnt mean it is going to happen. Sacrifices have to be made.

9. In a recent speech, he said 'I will veto every beer' instead of every bill. We, Americans, need our beer. Get it right, McCain. You suck!
Haha, funny. Obama has a whole load of blunders, and his VP should just keep his mouth shut.

11. He has plans to make zero exceptions for a woman's right to choose --even in cases of rape, incest, or to protect the life of the mother
That is a human life they are killing. Who has the right to determine if they can kill a person? Just because it isnt a "person" yet doesnt mean it doesnt have life.

12. He's against the life-saving possibilities of stem cell research.
They are taking a human life to do this. The embryo is a life as soon as conception, just because it is only an embryo doesn't make it ok.

13. He has no plans to protect equal pay for equal work.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Obama is trying to redistribute the wealth in the country. He wants to take from the hard workers and give to the people who dont want to work. WELFARE.

14. McCain voted 19 times against raising minimum wage.
Raise minimum wage and everything else goes up in price as well.

15. If Palin was to step up to President if McCain was to croak as he is expected to within 5 years.......this country would be going straight to hell. That is the last person who should be in office. She's terrible.
Why is she terrible? Because she is a woman and not a Washington elite? She has more experience than Mr. Community Organizer Barack Hussein Obama.

He is going to kill small businesses with his taxes. This whole "Joe the plumber" guy is going to bring a lot of things to light on this matter.[/b]

Simply put: Republicans know how to run an economy better than liberals.

Think of it this way: Yes, Republicans do tend to be the rich white males, and guess who is hurting the MOST due to this "recession" that we're in? You've got it, rich white males. These are the guys that have tens of millions of dollars riding in the stock market EVERY day. Do you think they like seeing the stock market plunge 10% in one day? or 20% in 2 weeks? Of course not... they're losing MILLIONS on this economy.

You know what Barack Obama is going to do? He's going to come in and add some more crap to an already bloated government. He might cut taxes for a year to follow through on his promise, but watch what will happen in ensuing years. Coming from a college business finance major, these tax cuts promised by both presidents are going to be impossible to keep for very long.

If/When the economy goes sour, he'll start hiking taxes on the "wealthy" (which very well could be anyone making barely over $100k/year) and create programs to assist the poor in the country. Sounds like a nice thing to do, right? It won't be so nice for all of us middle-class people who have enough money not to need assistance, and it definitely won't be nice for those upper class folks who are going to have their hard-earned money taxed until they're wondering what they worked so hard for.

My dad worked in a factory for over 20 years and finally got himself into upper management about 6 years ago. He's in an income-range right now that will be targeted for tax hikes under democratic control. It makes me sick to my stomach that we have people in this country that want to take money away from people who worked so hard to get into an income bracket where they FINALLY don't have to worry about money anymore. It annoys me that people think that every rich white male had everything given to them. **NewsFlash** most rich white males worked harder to get to where they are than 10 average people will work in an entire lifetime.

I thought this article was interesting:

"Trickle-Up" Poverty:

The liberal media talking heads are already proclaiming that a Barack Obama victory will be revolutionary. Revolutionary is right. The last great revolution took place in Russia. Within a year of the Russian Revolution in 1917, the communist leader Lenin brought the Russians change they could believe in.
He created an economic system in which:

* All industry was nationalized and strict centralized management was introduced.

* Obligatory labor duty was imposed onto "non-working classes" or people who had money. Food was rationed and centrally distributed.

* Military-like control of railroads was introduced.

* Private enterprise became illegal.

After Stalin took over the Soviet Union, he:

* Imposed a state-run system of socialized medicine
* Formed a strict, centralized cultural administration and ideological control system – in other words, reeducation.

There is every reason to believe that some kind of socialist revolution will occur under B.O. Bush has already imposed socialism on the banks, and Obama promises to do more of the same. The Soviets put people with money to work in factories.

Under Obama, the business owners in this country who drive the economy will be put to work by being forced to pay crushing taxes that will fund gold-plated healthcare for illegal aliens and welfare cases. Private enterprise may not actually be made illegal, but so many businesses will die under an Obama administration that the same goal will be accomplished. Instead of trickle-down economics, we’ll have trickle-up poverty.

We already know Obama will impose socialized medicine – that is a given. And reeducation will come in the form of the Fairness Doctrine, which Nancy Pelosi will push through the Congress by stressing the need to foster unity and avoid destabilizing the markets with hurtful and unbalanced commentary. This is what the future holds under B.O.

Im Eric Taylor and I approve this message![/b]

And you sir probably don't make enough in a year to be voting Republican....I would almost bet the house on that. YOu better get to used to it because Obama will win this election.

Also There is no more middle class anymore...YOur either rich or your F'N Poor...

McCain has really fallen in the polls. I am going to vote for him but do you all who support him like I do really think he has a shot here to pull off the victory? I sure hope so but I have to be honest and say it is not looking to great for him right now as far as the poll's are concerned. I know the polls are not 100% accurate but they do shed some light regardless.

Well Adam, all I can tell you is that Revelation says that we will face hard times in the end days. Some even say that the US will be neutralized. Well, we are on hard days, and Obama isnt going to fix it. This nation isnt interested in God's man for the job, all they want is their man for the job. This country has lost its morale, integrity, and all in all its way. This used to be a nation under God, but that died a long time ago. People dont wanna hear this, but the crisis we are in is from taking God out of this nation. Like it or not that is the truth.

Please read the WHOLE Post:

Subject: Sunday Morning's televised 'Meet The Press'

Subject: Wow, if you want to read something that will scare your socks
off, .

Perhaps there are SOME out there who are beginning to get 'the picture'.
The following is a narrative taken from Sunday Morning's televised 'Meet
The Press' and the author is employed by none other than the Washington
Post!! Yeah......the Washington Post of New York and Los Angeles Times
fame!! Must say that I'm dually impressed..................

From Sunday's Televised 'Meet the Press' Senator Obama was asked about his
stance on the American Flag. Obama Explains National Anthem Stance.

Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked
Obama to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem
is played.

The General also stated to the Senator that according to the United States
Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... During rendition of the national
anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are
expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over
the heart. At the very least, 'Stand and Face It'

Senator Obama Live on Sunday states, 'As I've said about the flag pin, I
don't want to be perceived as taking sides, Obama said. 'There are a lot
of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of
oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know,
the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less
parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World
To Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.

'We should consider to reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign
our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if
elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East
Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct ourselves as
the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails, perhaps a state or period of
mutual concord between our governments. When I become President, I will
seek a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at
war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive
thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the nations of Islam an unfair
injustice. My wife disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons.
Together she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the
past, many years ago. She has her views and I have mine'.

Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the
United States and I have put aside my hatred. I will use my power to bring
CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope. My wife
and I look forward to becoming our Country's First Family. Indeed, CHANGE
is about to overwhelm the United States of America.

WHAAAAAAAT the Hell !!!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it right. This could possibly be our
next President.

I, for one, am speechless.

Everything he said is in Revelation. He will sell us out to the world and well end up in a one world government, religion, and all hell will break loose. This disarming the nations and declaring peace in the middle east is also in the Bible, a 7 year peace treaty will be signed in the middle east with false hope of peace and will signify the beginning of the Tribulation. This is what the world has to look forward to.

Eric,

I have many fears about this election:

My previous post today was just added to the list. I we weakens our military as described in the Washington Post article I fear we will be done as the superpower, just moving closer to end times.

If Obama/Osama and the Democrat party get the "Democratic trifecta"-control of presidency and control of House & Senate, they can pass ANY law they want without ANY opposition! What happens if they start changing the Constitution?? Example: Allowing the Illegal Aliens already here to vote??? If they do that, that would spell the end of the Republican party... No longer would we have a system of checks and balances...

But, then again if Obama/Osama wins....would any of that matter.... We would be moving closer to end times and who could stop that once he puts those steps into action??

Tag has become another member I really respect and think highly of as well. We just cannot sit by and do nothing about the way our Country is going down hill. We cannot take the attitude that we are only one person and could never make a difference so why bother trying? That is what is part of the problem in the USA today. Not enough people doing something about things. I write my Congress and Senator's on important issues to me all the time. I am probably a thorn in their butts. I want them to know what I stand for. I want them to know what I find unacceptable. It may not make a difference but I can complain when I don't like something because I have done something about it. I have not sat on my butt complaining all the while doing nothing about things. We have to stick together. We are all we have. We are power in numbers.

All I can do is try to help bring my Son up the best I can and protect him as long as I live. Give the values to make a difference and to believe in whats right. I will vote for McCain and I will tell everyone about him as best I can. All we can do right now is make our vote count. Simply put – easily understood.

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten
comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go
something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day
and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw
them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers, he said, 'I'm going to
reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. Drinks for the ten now cost just
$80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes, so the
first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about
the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20
windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They realized that $20
divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then
the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his
beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's
bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each
should pay.
And so: The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings)
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant the men began to compare their savings.

'I only got a dollar out of the $20,'declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10!'

'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!'

'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!'

'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!'

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

It's amazing to me that any Democrat could frown upon someone choosing to be a Republican. As a Republican, there are several truths about me (and all the rest of you Republicans) that EVERYONE should respect.

- Being Republican doesn't have to mean that you're "rich." Most Republicans simply believe in chasing the American Dream, whatever that means to each individual. It could mean complete financial security, or it could just mean living comfortably and not having to stress about money. THAT is the foundation that this country was built off of. Republicans belong to a party that wants to protect each individual's right to achieve their own American Dream. It's not that I don't want to pay taxes at all... some taxes are necessary. But why should a person who has achieved financial security have to pay nearly 50% income taxes? They worked hard to get to where they're at... why punish them for being financially responsible or savvy?

- Being Republican means that I expect to take care of myself; I don't expect or plan to get government handouts. If I lose my job, I plan to support myself with my emergency funds that I have earned and saved for myself until I can find a new job. If I were ever in a situation where I wasn't making enough money to support my family, you can bet I'd be getting a second job... third job... whatever it took. I'm not going to sit on my ass and let the government support my family when I'm the one that ought to be putting food on the table. There are 24 hours in a day, and I need about 6 of them for sleep. I would work 18 hours per day if that's what it took. Being a Republican means I would work myself to the bone before I would go on welfare.

- Being Republican means I take accountability for my own actions: My fiance and I got ourselves into $13,500 in credit card debt a little over a year ago. Rather than doing the Democratic thing and blaming the government for allowing us to open up so many credit cards, we blamed ourselves, then rolled up our sleeves and took it upon ourselves to fix it. 9 months later... it was fixed. Just like a lot of other Republicans do, we took care of our own business.

I know that sounds arrogant. To be honest, being a Republican is something (like being a Cowboys fan) that I feel I can be arrogant about. The above three things are typical of any Republican. I think all three are very admirable.

I think Obama will win this election. I'm not voting for him, and of course I hope he doesn't win, but I think he will. This will be a very awakening experience for America; specifically for those who don't know much about politics, but make the choice to vote anyways. Those are the people who will cause Obama to win. I bet they'll make sure they're better informed next time.

It's really bad when I really wish it were Hillary Clinton about to take office over Obama.

This whole "change" he is talking about and "the world getting along" he keeps bringing up makes me think that hes going to head, or agree to, a one world government. That scares me, but as weve pointed out people are uninformed and they dont care to educate themselves.

Oh, and as far as taxes goes, its not even a law to pay individual income tax. Go look it up, everyone is worried about it, and the candidates make a big deal over it, and its not even a law. The only tax law in America is corporate tax. Even if it were a law Id vote for 10% tax, God asks us for 10% in tithe, why should the government think they are above God?

If they get a trifecta, they can make any law they want and completely change the landscape FOREVER!

Plus I am about to be unemployed because the wonderful fortune 500 corporation I work for has gotten great tax breaks and has moved our jobs to Costa Rica. I can't wait until they are paying taxes out the ass for putting me and others out of a job who has helped them make Millions. They want to cut labor cost by 66% by outsourcing us. Piece of sh!t Republicans , thanks I will be on unemployment before the end of this year. A fooking college grad what a joke. I cant even get an interview and I have been looking since the summer.

They didnt go to Costa Rica because of the tax breaks here, they saught them out elsewhere, you can thank Democrats for that. I love how people are down on Palin, show me where any of the other candidates have a leg to stand on besides McCain when it comes to experience. Obviously you wanna look right past where Obama and other Democrats have run Chicago into the ground and that doesnt bother you. Thats just a city and he couldnt straighten it out, Palin ran a STATE and she has no experience, what a joke. You people that jump on Palin make me absolutely sick.

Obama is going to sell our freedom away from us, and all you are worried about is being on unemployment, WAKE UP! Obama wants to change the flag and our national anthem. Hes more worried about how the world perceives us than standing up for what this country stand for. Do some research before you blame the wrong people for things they arent responsible for. You are unemployed because other countries only tax at an 11% rate when we are taxing at a 30+% rate. Thats the reason, not a tax cut.

Im through with this, if any other people wanna come in here and down Republicans PLEASE have an educated complaint.

Selling our freedom? Who lied to you? The world has not always thought the best of us some consider us stupid pigs and if he can change that good. Straightening out Illinois compared to Alaska is a real good comparison. Lord knows the city of Anchorage and Chicago has the same amount of crime rate, and economic problems throughout history .
A majority of this thread is bashing Democrats. Please read when I said I am ABOUT to be out of a job soon. My job is leaving because of cheaper labor which is the biggest expense for companies. To continue to give them tax cuts when they are relocating jobs is a slap in the face and that is what Bush I mean John McCain wants to do.
Palin is right up there with the intelligence of Bush. This pit-bull in a skirt is an embarrassment to women like Hilary Clinton. Sarah Palin and her Russia foreign policy experience….well that is all I need to say. What amazes me is how the Republican Party wants her to step down, HER OWN PARTY. That party is torn up I would like to thank McCain for that, good pick John.
Reality is Obama is going to be president if you don't like head to Canada its just North. I might head there myself soon because it is going to take a few years to fix this country.

And stop spouting this propaganda BS, most of what you said is non factual. How bout disputing stuff we already said, or is that not possible? Simple solution: Get out of Florida. Everyone wants to live there... that's why where are more people looking for jobs then there are jobs out there. If there is no demand for the degree that you have, then go back to school and get a better degree. DOING is what is going to better your situation, not complaining.

If you think Obama is going to magically cause you to have a job, I feel sorry for how disappointed you're about to be. It is people like you that make me halfway happy that Obama will be elected. At the very least, we can laugh and say "I told you so" when this is all over.

And if by some miracle we're wrong, then I guess we still win :)

Thats how i feel about it all. Its a win-win. If we're wrong and Obama can follow through on the hollow promises, its good for us all. But if and when he fails, we get to say look, we told you this was going to happen. It will change things and most certainly change how the democrats/liberals are and it would turn out to be a good thing.

Umm, obviously you either have not read all the threads, or you cant read. Obama wants to change our flag and our national anthem. I guess you dont care about either. Im so tired of people that look at the color of a man's skin and dont want to see what he stands for.

1.) He wants it to be legal to MURDER a baby

2.) He wants to raise taxes on businesses that make over $250, 000 (that means your company)

3.) He wants to make a national health plan that will ultimately make the quality of care go down (no competion means less work)

All of this and he never refers to the middle east as the middle east, he always says Islamic nations, I wonder why that is. Read Revelation and tell me that his policies dont match up. Hes going to to sell our freedom to create the United Northern States, making Canada, Mexico, South America, and The United States all ONE COUNTRY. All this "the world needs to get along" crap he is slinging, dont you realize that the world will NEVER get along until you take religion out of it, or are you that dumb? If we take religion out of this nation then weve lost our freedom, if you dont see that you are blind and selfish. All this "world as one" talk sure sounds to me like one world government, one world currency, and one world religion to me. If that doesnt bother you then you need to do some soul searching, because its in the Bible, when that happens, and we who are believers disappear I guarantee you wont like what youve put in place.

A degree in Business is totally the wrong degree I should of chose Art Education. Going back to school to get a master is one thing I am working on as well as keeping myself from falling into debt like some Americans I know. I am doing something about my situation by looking for a job everyday and not quitting my search and finding ways I can make money without working for some greedy company. Florida situation is like Cali, its mostly because of housing problems. If you think McCain-Palin is going to be the solution you’re kidding yourself. I do not align myself with either party but I like what I heard from Obama-Bidden. Their are people laughing right now about I told you BUSH would Fu-ck it up for everyone and that guy will go down as one of the worst presidents. He is leaving the new president with the biggest spending deficit in history and that is a FACT everyone knows. Jobs are not going to fall out the sky overnight; the state that the economy is in will not be a quick fix no matter who lands in office. What Bush has done is going to take years to fix, we are talking about 8 years worth of F-ups and being reactive instead of being proactive. I decided which candidate would put us on a good track for the future not a quick patch like handing out six hundred dollars to spur the economy forward.

Good luck to you BlueStar. I'm being honest when I say that, too. My father works in a factory, and next to call-center jobs, factory jobs are always getting outsourced. This is one area where I hope Obama can actually pull off his promise. I understand the business aspect of outsourcing jobs, but I've never liked the idea from an American economical perspective.

Business degrees are hit or miss. The two top business degrees, Marketing and Business Admin, can make it difficult to find and keep a job. It's not that the education is bad, it's just that there are so many people getting those degrees. If you pick something more specialized like Accounting or Finance (if you're into math), you have all the education of a standard business degree with the added specialized knowledge that most other business grads do not have.

You'll be fine BlueStar. I think you're smart enough to take care of what you need to take care of. I really don't think Obama is going to help you out very much, but it sounds to me like you're doing what you need to do. You're one of the good ones. There are millions of people that are sitting on their asses just waiting for Obama to be the president because they truly believe that everything is going to fall into their laps when Obama is in the office.

I honestly don't like talking about politics much. I'm a believer that everyone controls their own destiny. In my experience, politics generally only gets in my way of following my own dreams.

Things I do not get about people that will vote for Obama:

1) Why did the market peak in March 2000? (was it Bush's fault?? Like someone can have that much effect in 3 months)
2) Why did the housing bubble burst?? (was it Bush's fault?? Can a president create a housing bubble?? Can he lower interest rates??)

http://www.amazon.com/Greenspans-Bubbles-I...e/dp/0071591583 (http://www.amazon.com/Greenspans-Bubbles-Ignorance-Federal-Reserve/dp/0071591583)

**ALL Americans should read this book!! Especially anyone that is blaming Bush for this mess!!

3) Why did the economy go bust?? (was it Bush's fault?? Did he send jobs overseas? Did he allow illegals in?? Can he make laws by himself???
4) Does the media speak the truth on ANY issue?? (people can't think for themselves)
5) Why did Obama get so MUCH campaign financial support?? What is that money for?? What did they "PAY" for??
6) Why does Martin Luther King Speech ONLY apply from how "Blacks judge Whites" ( Can it not work BOTH ways!)

http://www.mlkonline.net/dream.html

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today. **This should be McCain's Campaign Slogan!!!

ARE WE STUPID OR WHAT?

It makes you wonder.......

Part 1
Remember the election in 2006?

Thought you might like to read the following:

A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $4.10 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
7) Food prices skyrocketing over 30% in 1 year.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember, it is Congress that makes the laws and spends our money -not the President. He has to work
with what's handed to him.

Part 2:
Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.
www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.HTML

Taxes under CLINTON-1999 Taxes under BUSH-2008

Single earning: 30K - taxed- $ 8,400 30K - taxed $ 4,500
50K - taxed $ 14,000 50K - taxed $ 12,500
75K - taxed $ 23,250 75K - taxed $ 18,750
Married earning: 60K - taxed $ 16,800 60K - taxed $ 9,000
75K - taxed $ 21,000 75K - taxed $ 18,750
125K - taxed $ 38,750 125K - taxed $ 31,250

Barack Obama promises to return to the higher tax rates if elected. It is amazing how many people
who fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest
President ever.

If elected, Barack Obama has already promised that he will repeal the Bush tax cuts, and amazingly,
a good portion of the people who fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen.

Thats the scary thing, If democrats can get the president, house, and senate, then we are in for trouble. There wont be the Republican president to veto something that will pass right through with an all democrat government. This isnt good because there WILL be things passed through that should be vetoed.

Newman the unfortunate thing is that if the president were Republican and the congress is Democrat then they still have the power to revote even if he vetoes. So even with a Republican president, the congress still has more power. God help us all.

Well we were all right...It appears Obama will be our next Prez. Yes God help us all. Those that did vote for him...please don't bitch and complain if he screws things up worse than they are now. He is walking into a mess and he has very little experience.

Yes you will hear me bitch as long as he does a poor job because I did not vote for the guy.

Well on a lighter note...I hope where ever we go they have the capacity to air Cowboy games. Oh I can make some mean Buffalo wings on the grill...so I've got that covered. LOL
I know to us Republicans this is a sad day and a serious issue but I am trying to keep my sense of humor in it all. As long as I make sure my Family and Myself are right with God then I truly believe no matter how tough times get I am safe and will be alright. I wish the same for all my friends as well. Even if they do not see things exactly the same way I do.

We should reserve the right to criticize the crap out of him because the liberals have been doing it for the past 8 years plus this election. It has always been the liberals picking on the conservatives in a double standard, so lets see how it goes when people give them crap for once.

Anyways, my dad and I are going to the new Bass Pro Shops to load up on ammo for every gun we own, tomorrow...seriously we are.
