Alright, first rounds of cuts are coming next week, which DBs do you think are in, and who out?
Here's mine:
CB
1. Newman
2. Henry
3. Glenn
4. Reeves
5. Thomas
Nate Jones is out, Ball probably goes to practice squad
Safeties
1. Williams
2. Hamlin
3. Watkins
4. Davis
5. Brown

I can't see how Thomas makes it. He gives up too many completions in front of him.

Completions in front is OK whe your dealing with our secondary in the past, It's the ones that didn't stay in front was our downfall.. :P

I will agree with Joe's list also.
Thomas might even take over Glenn's #3 spot. I still think we keep Glenn though.

Yup, i share the same list as Joe as well.
Thomas really has been impressing me and i dont know how high up he could make it on the roster, but i think he could take over Reeves and Glenn not before too long.

I think CB will be atop our draft needs early on for the 2008 draft though. I dont see Glenn going another year, Reeves signed a 1yr deal, so he'll be up for FA, unless we re-sign him.

good list can't say I disagree with it. I think next draft WR and CB are going to be at the top of the list for the boys. Does anyone know what players are projected to be the top CB's in the draft?

Good battle between Thomas and Jones to see who makes the squad.

Max you said you can't see how Thomas makes it? I can't see how as of right now he doesn't make it. He had a great game against Denver. They were saying his name all throughout the second half of that game.

Well I read this on another blog site, and I guess it got me thinking.....
"Nobody wants the 4: It was a bad night for the CBs chasing the fourth spot. Nate Jones was beaten on a bomb that he mis timed; a count sooner and he would have knocked it away. Jacques Reeves did nothing bad, but gave up a couple of short throws.
They were joined in infamy by Joey Thomas. I keep seeing people laud this guy and I just don’t get it. Sure, he broke up a deep pass last night but he also gave up a couple of short throws, drew a 37 yard pass interference penalty when he let his WR get behind him and then missed his assignment two plays later on the TD pass to his zone. He gave up a lot of short completions last week too. He’s the kind of guy who will follow a very good play with a dreadful one. You don’t want that in a relief pitcher and you don’t want that in relief corners either. He may win the backup CB battle be default, but he’s nothing special. I can see why Dallas is looking for some backup CB help. Right now this may be a bigger need than backup NT."

Well at least now I know where you are coming from. My response to the write of that is give him a break. No one thought he had a shot in heck at making the roster. It is training camp and he is a work in progress. He needs to ask himself this question which he put in his own article. If everyone around him is giving Thomas Props except for himself then maybe he needs to re-evaluate his thought process. The kid had a good game and is opening peoples eyes. More importantly he is opening Wades eyes...Nuff said.
