Not sold on Cedric Benson and originally targeting Mendenhall in the first, the Bears war room gasps in frustration when Carolina takes the prized RB one pick ahead of them. Now the feeling in the Chicago War Room is that they can find the second RB listed on thier grade sheet in Round 2.

With that in mind......

With the 14th pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select Jeff Otah - OT - Pittsburgh

Detroit is on the clock TICK TICK TICK

Detroit Stood of their sit went to Carolina's War room and Slapped their GM and coach Fox in the head now with the 5 min left they got to make their pick they're in a real crossroads

They really need a RB but the value isn't there Steward the next best one just had toe surgery and just having to live with Kevin Jones Toe injury 2 season ago Detroit can't make that pick

They also are in a real need for DT with the trade of Shawn R but there's no talent there so they go to their third need

So with the 15 pick on the draft Detroit selects LB Keith Rivers, USC
a top 10 pick that fell to their lap and they go laughing to the bar and drink some martinis

The Cardinals War Room is in stunned silence as they realize a player they really like but did not think would fall to them at 16 is actually on the board when they go on the clock. They don't know what to do. They are so used to calling around trying to move around to get the guy they want, they are speechless because it appears for the first time in team history their first round draft strategy actually worked. Now they have the luxury of getting a fresh cup of coffee while watching the 10 minute allotted time tick away. Then, in the 8th minute when it is obvious that the phone is not going to ring from a team wanting to trade up, the Cardinals War Room submits thier index card with the following information:

With the 16th pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select Leodis McKelvin CB, Troy.

The Minnesota Vikings are on the clock!

With Ronde Barber over 30 and the Phillip Buchanan entering the final year of his contract, the Bucs look a little thin at CB after that.

Now the Bucs originally targeted in-state favorite Mike Jenkins and were a little dismayed when he was selected at #17 by the Kansas City Chiefs.
The next CB on the Bucs ranking sheet is comparable in size and speed to Mike Jenkins. So with that in mind......

With the 20th pick of the 2008 NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Bucaneers select Antoine Cason CB, Arizona.

P.S. The Washington Redskins are on the clock.

Washington selects Phillip Merling DE Clemson Having one of the worst pass rushing defenses in the NFL they desperately need an upgrade and select the best available Pass rusher

With Pacman now at Valley Ranch, Dallas looks to bolster thier secondary a little more. A surprise pick at #22 for Dallas when they turn the card into the commissioner it reads.....

With the 22nd pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Kenny Phillips S, Miami.

(This guy has been referred to as the "New Ed Reed". He is a ball hawk and a half)

I know, I know everyone is looking for Felix Jones or a WR, but Dallas has not selected an offensive player with thier first round pick since David LaFluer, and I think they continue to pick defense in the first round in 2008.
