WR Mario Manningham (5-11 3/8, 183): Ran a 4.44 and a 4.38 in the 40, had a 35-inch vertical jump, ran a 4.38 short shuttle and kept his numbers from the combine for everything else.
Was this fast enough for all of you guys who think he was slow...... does this numbers now give you guys more confidence?
it don't matter he burned everyone on tape you just needed to See a 4.4 or 4.3 on his 40's well NOW YOU hahahahaha

The thing about that Don is that when I watched the tapes I actually saw a guy that looks like he runs 4.6 in the 40, lol.
That does change things a lot, IMO. I would like an explanation for why or how he managed to better his time that drastically. Guys that run 4.6's don't just turn around and run a 4.38. Maybe he had the stopwatch guy on the payroll :)

I've always been a fan of Manningham. Watched hi, since he was a freshman. I don't think he'll be as good as Braylon Edwards, but I think he'll make a very solid # 2 WR that would complement the Cowboys offense. I was thinking back to our team in the mid 90's, when we had Aikman, Emmitt, Moose, Irvin, Harper, Novacek and a monster O-line. I think picking Manningham would be a major improvement on our offense. I'm not sold on Crayton as our #2, but think he makes a good #3. I actually hoped Manningham's #'s would continue to be poor, making him possibly drop to our second pick. Anybody who followed Michigan knows he has great football speed and was the Wolverine's primary passing weapon over the past two years. He routinely blew by defenders and got open, and he had a great knack for catching the deep ball. He single handedly destoyed Notre Dame.
I think he would have a much greater impact on our offense than Felix Jones would. Jones or Chris Johnson would be nice pick-ups if we could move up into the earlier part of the second round, but a WR and CB would have immediate impacts on our team for next year, and hopefully help us get our first playoff win in a decade (Hopefully 3 playoff wins).

michigan WRs have been busts for the most part...Im not interested. I think Garrett wants a taller #2 WR anyway.

I think it gives most teams more hope for him, I think they really got down on him after the combine and this should bring him back to the late first early second round range. Just won't be a Dallas pick.

Totally agree with you!! I am a huge Wolverine fan and I would love to have Super Mario! He is a playmaker!! I am glad his numbers were bad at the combine, giving us a better shot of addressing CB, RB and WR with our first three picks.....

Adam,
I like the Gophers, they are my Alumni.. But lets be real, they just dont win many games. ...
So by default, I follow the Wolverines and Canes which I am a huge fan of both!

Your right about the Gophers unfortunately Bro. Your stock just went up a whole hell of a lot now that I know you are a Canes fan. Not that your stock was not already up there bro! I am a HUGE Canes fan. On the college level I follow them about as much as I do the Cowboys on the Pro level. Man how far they have fallen though eh? It don't matter though. I love em' regardless...win or lose. I just wish they could get their mojo and swagger back. I would love to get back to the days where the Seminoles and the Canes are 2 of the best so we can re-heat that rivalry we once had. The Wolverines are all right I guess. I don't like them nor dislike them. Totally different conference and they really have no bearings on what the Canes do. I bet you hate the Buckeye's don't you?

I HATE Ohio State!!! But, I would love to have VERNON GHOLSTON on my team. He is a player!
I do miss the good ole days with the Canes!! I love it when the Boys would get a Cane!!! That was the best of both worlds!!!

Yeah I'm with ya on the Boys back in the day grabbing Cane players. It was the best of both worlds. That is why way back when Jimmy brought over Walsh when we had Aikman battling against him I was pissed at first when Jimmy went with Aikman over Walsh. At the time I could not understand how Jimmy could do that to Walsh after all the time he had him as his QB in Miami. Boy was I wrong Eh?
To bad we have to keep Roy for 1 more year. If we were to be able to part ways now and if there was not such a need at the CB/WR/RB positions I would love to go after Miami's Kenny Phillips at the safety position. He is a great Safety. He combines the cover skills of a Ed Reed with a little intimidation factor going on like the late Sean Taylor who actually took him under his wing. He will be long gone I predict before it got to our pick but he would be worth considering because he can play both positions at safety and CB which raises his stock.

I'm sorry I hear Ohio State and I still get a bad Carpenter taste on my mouth and can't pass on it ... Specially because I was so high on him and lobbied so much for us to take him
