The draft will go down like this. We will trade one of our 2 first round pick and maybe a player with it to detroit for Roy Williams WR. Then we will select DB in the first round. In the second round the cowboys will select a RB Steve Slaton West Virgina, Justin Forsett RB California, or Patirck Allen Oklahoma. Now, if the Detroit lions don't accept the offer, the cowboys will then trade down the 22 pick for an extra second round pick and in the first will get a Felix Jones and the second first round pick will get a DB. Then, in the second round Dallas will pick WR Andre Caldwell WR from Florida , Eddie Royal form Virgina Tech, or William Franklain From Missouri and with the second pick in the second round another DB if available or the best player available.
Hey,this is my mock draft tell me what you think.

It sure is alot of options. I would think in a mock Draft has to actually have some picks that you think the cowboys will go for. Ill throw one out there, but im sure this is not what the cowboys are going to do.
1st round
22. rogers-cromartie
28. trade to Det for Roy Williams.
2nd round
I agree with your Andre Caldwell from FLA
3rd i believe we will get some sort of DT or DE.

we NEED a WR and CB! we really could use another RB, but imo it is not a necessity (notice i said necessity. i think we should get one, but we can do without. IF we do not get a CB and a WR, either thru the draft or via FA, that will hurt us this year and years to come). to expand upon this, we can do well with Barber being our #1 and picking up a change of pace back like a Dunn or a T.Bell and not miss a beat. if we do not get a CB in the 1st round and a WR thru trade (r.williams) or early on in the draft, we will not improve our team imo.
hence, i like your 1st scenario the best. picking up a CB in the 1st (think is my first priority) and then getting a young stud WR, williams (WR being next biggest priority) would be outstanding! imo trading a number 1 for williams is just as good if not better (leaning towards better) than using a 1st rd pick in the draft. AND to top it off, if we would get a playmaking RB like slaton in the 2nd, i would be almost orgasmic. i'd be painting my living room a pearly white color with all of that jubilation.

i'd be ok with this too. coming away with 2 WR's would not be a bad thing. imo, Hurd and Austin have yet to prove their worthiness. not a knock on them, but they need to step up and a young WR would make them "either sh.t or get off the pot."
i don't think DRC will remain on the boards til #22, but you never know.
also, in that scenario, i wouldn't mind picking up a decent change of pace back in FA.
imo, we do not need a DE. however, by getting a 3-4 NT that may allow us to be more versatile with our front rotation.

Wow, chumpy...that was GRAPHIC, man!
I want Roy Williams too...he's young, he's got the talent, and it beats picking up a draft talent and HOPING he becomes something. Call me crazy, but I still like Sam Hurd as a future #2 for us.
Anyway, YES a CB in the first and then some more DB help later.

In my opinion the best draft we could have would have us taking the following:
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie with the 22nd pick.
Best WR available with the 28th pick.
In the second round take Jamaal Charles, RB, Texas, because Chris Johnson will be gone, if he isn't then take him.

We have our Dline rotation in place. 2 NT, 4 DE, with Ellis, Ware and Spencer going down to DE on some nickel situations.

The first priority has to be running back. If we take one later, we are likely to be no better off talent wise than we were with JJ. I think we learned this when we passed on Stephen Jackson. MB3 is great, but we also saw in the Giants game he is not as effective starting and going 4 quarters. He is most effective with shared carries, mostly in the 3rd and 4th qtr.
We need an impact player at that position, and I'm afraid waiting unitl our second or third pick will make us only marginally better there. The receivers and corners along with the RB's are pretty deep, so I take the best value of those three that fall, or move up if there is a chance to grab the top flight RB.

i do not agree at all. CB is our #1 priority imo followed closely by WR. another RB is a distant 3rd

I agree with Chumpy as well. No way a RB is our first priority. It will be addressed but not with the first pick I don't think

I dont care what happens after #22 as long as we come away with DRC or Brandon Flowers with it!

If I was the GM I would trade a fifth for Pacman(if its not enough throw in Akin but make them throw in a 7th) but in this we get Pacman with a fifth. Also on draft day when the 22 pick comes up I would immediately call Atlanta especially if they didn't choose a QB and trade the 22 for two of their 3 second round picks (lets say we get the 37th pick and 48th pick) alright now that we are set.
28-WR-Manningham. I believe he will be around at that time but if not James Hardy.
37-RB-Chris Johnson-Elite speed will give Barber a perfect compliment. Also could return kickoffs and play some WR
48-CB-Justin King-Great physical tools
61-DT-Ahtyba Rubin-6-2 321 pounder that can occupy blockers to allow Thomas and James to make plays.
3rd Round-WR-Dexter Jackson-Speedy kid that played big in Senior Bowl
4th Round-DE/OLB-Tommy Blake-First Round talent that we can take a chance on.
5th Round-Pacman
6th Round-SS-Dominique Barber-Start as backup but could become a starter with some improvements. Also brother of MBIII
7th Round-A Guard or Center

Your trade scenario doesn't add up on the trade value chart, if you wanted us to trade the #22 pick (that's IF a q.B. worthy is still on the board which I don't think is gonna happen, but they could want some other player) for their #37 and #48, we'd have to throw in our 3rd rounder on top if it to make it a fair trade.
28-WR-Manningham. I believe he will be around at that time but if not James Hardy.[/b]
Manningham isn't a #1 W.R., never will be with his size and his slow running at the combine coupled with is HUGE RED FALG issues on his personality I'd remove him from my draft board.
37-RB-Chris Johnson-Elite speed will give Barber a perfect compliment. Also could return kickoffs and play some WR[/b]
I like this pick
48-CB-Justin King-Great physical tools[/b]
DITTO, I like it
61-DT-Ahtyba Rubin-6-2 321 pounder that can occupy blockers to allow Thomas and James to make plays.[/b]
Too early for himI see him as a 3rd rounder and he was rated as a 6th until he did a ton of reps at the combine, so that scares me.
3rd Round-WR-Dexter Jackson-Speedy kid that played big in Senior Bowl[/b]
Love this pick, which is why we should go Hardy or Sweed in round 1, ONE BIG receiver and one fast small speedy guy for the slot.
Don't care much for the other picks.

To tell the truth I do like Hardy the most but I got a little hung up on someone comparing Manningham with Ocho Cinco so I got a little trigger happy. About Rubin I never heard of him till I looked at a draft magazine and at 61 he was the best 3-4 Nose tackle available. And I was wrong about the draft values too (should've looked it up).

I'd love to land RW with a first.
And I totally agree with going DB with the other pick.
So far so good...
But I havent seen a mock yet that had Steve Slaton or Allen Patrick going in the second round. Allen Patrick especially, you could easily land him in the fourth.
It's not that I dislike Slaton, or Patrick, it's just that I think you overdrafted them. I'd rather take Johnson, Charles or Rice in that order at 61.

I gotta go with Chumpy on this one. CB =1 WR=1a RB=2.
I agree with you jsloand that RB is important and we need to upgrade from what we had in JJ, but look at where JJ was taken and look at where Barber was taken. We can get an RB that is better than JJ in the second, or even third. Heck, Barber was a fourth and he's tons better.
No need to sell out just to get the likes of Felix Jones, who may or may not be any better than Charles, Johnson, Rice, or Slaton.
