Ok we all know that right now our 3 needs are WR,RB and CB it all will change based on FA specially if we sign 1 of the FA Wr speedsters out there like Stallworth (who I would love to have) or Berrian and if we lose Adams... I don't see us getting either a RB or a CB in FA and I see all the trades talk as crap no reallity so with that this are my grades based on position and who fit's better in our team needs there can be better players but that don't fit our needs.

(it's all first round talent)

RB's
For me RB is a thing that we don't need in the 1st round and we can get a nice complement in the second or third but if a great talent falls to us I don't see us passing him by or if al lthe good CB and/or WR have been taken

#1 Rashard Mendenhall I see him as a Edgarrin James type of player he's complete and can be a 3 downs RB I see in a lot of boards that the falls to our 22 spot and even later believe me he won't last that long bu if he does i don't see us passing him by even if their's great talent at wr or cb, I see us using the 1 year tender with MB3 and if we get Mendenhall I don't see us offering a big contract to MB3 Rashard Mendenhall (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7OiYXlBEZU) Reshard Mendenhall 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0AWFtV1KDk&feature=related) 5'10 1/8¨ 225 pounds 4.45 40 dash 26 reps
#2 Felix Jones the best complement to MB3 but in my point of view a reach at the first round he had a great career at arkansas but it had more to do with teams being so worried of RUN DMC I only see us taking him if there isn't a best option with our second pick at wr or cb (what ever we didn't took with the firts pick) Felix Jones (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSsaQ0IEbQA&eurl=http://qisports.com/nfldraft.html) 5'10 1/8¨ 207 pounds 4.47 40 dash not as fast as I expected
#3 Jonathan Stewart I really don't see us taking him he's more like MB3 not a good complement to our team but if he falls maybe it would be worth a trade Jonathan Stewart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwSKFOfc04Q&eurl=http://qisports.com/nfldraft.html) 5'10 1/4¨ 235 pounds 4.48 40 dash 28 reps
NOTE
RUN DMC ran 4.33 40 dash and felix is sopoused to be the fast one
East Carolina's Chris Johnson 4.24 40 dash

WR's
#1 Mario Manningham he has the speed to be a deep threat that we need great hands and route running if he falls we should take himMario Manningham (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMGskrMgmws&eurl=http://qisports.com/nfldraft.html) , Mario Manningham 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgvJHEjhcBI&feature=related) 5'11 3/4¨ 181 pounds
#2 DeShaun Jackson many have him above Manningham but for me a guy that produced less in his junior year, and gets lost at times isn't the best choice he takes playes off and he can get easyly bump at the line has great speed and it's a better threat but doesn't run as good routes as MM but if he's there we will take him 5-foot-9 and 169 pounds 4.31 40 dash to small for my liking Deshaun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPfEkWSEhcY&eurl=http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/02/topping-the-board.html)
#3 James Hardy 18 reps
#4 Limas Sweed Limas Sweed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2KUlq9OTJs&eurl=http://qisports.com/nfldraft.html) 6'3 7/8¨ 215
#5 malcome Kelly 6'3 3/4¨224 pounds
3rd or 4th round Jordy Nelson I really like this kid he has 4.2 speed it's a great project burned Aqib Talib

CB's
#1 Brandon Flowers I believe he's our best choice and should be at #28 if he doesn't move up a lot in the combine it's great at coverage man 2 man and zone have seen a lot of footage of this kid and belive he's the second best cb in the draft. Brandon Flowers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsMNyu77Ld8) , Brandon Flowers 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YRH7bCT-SM&NR=1) 4.58 40 dash I was Hoping he ran under 4.6 so he ended specualaations that he was slow and people focus more on his play
#2 Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie - Aqib Talib might be the best cb right now of the two bit Dominique has the best upside of the hall draft he's fast he can tackle he can bump and play man 2 man if both are available with the 28th pick I would go for dominique Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFAc3Puo68k) 4.33 40 dash This kid is bringing more upsite by the day and maybe he will go a little higher than he should we can't forget he's a project the kid need work but has a lot of potential, and could really help us
#3 Aqib Talib great CB excellent height should be a great cb for many years the reality is that I wouldn't complain if we get any of this 3 CB's 4.47 40 dash Aqib is slipping in some boards he has shown poor performance and I think people have the Jordy Nelson burn in the top of their heads

Jenkins and McKelvin ran 4.38

I will update this thread with videos when more compilations are made at you tube..

Well I agree that we don't need a first round RB. I think the first pick should be CB and I think talent wise you need to turn around your list. It should be Talib at the top, then DRC (who could be an early 2nd rounder if we don't take him), and then Flowers who is projected right now as a late second rounder.

I know flowers is rated as late first early second right now but watch the videos and see the combine and you would see he'll be moving up in no time he's a sleeper and teh best fit for us

come on MCAJE you can't expect tha all those 28 players will work here in dallas or will produce in the NFL how many produced at a high level last year RB 3 (Buf,min,NYG) how many wr 2 (KC,Det) CB 3 (NYG,CLE,NYJ) that's 8 players

mcaje
02-20-2008, 10:55 PM
I didn't say they were all locks, just players I wouldn't mind seeing more of.

DonCanabis
02-21-2008, 12:42 AM
that's what I'm saying MCAJE who do you think would fit more with us some of those wr are more possesion wr we don't need a possesion wr..... some of those cb are not really good man 2 man and we do a lot of man 2 man etc....

Currently... at RB I like Stewart and Jones; at WR I like Manningham; at CB I like Cromartie and Smith.

I do reserve the right to change my mind after the combine.

That's a pretty nice list Mitch. I really like Jones or Johnson. Cromartie has really won me over and I am all about getting him no matter what. I want him Real Bad.

I agree adam but I still have him under flowers .. .I just like how agressive this kid is... but the little I've seen about cromarite I like de good thing is tha tbecause he doesn't need to start right away we can groom him to be a top cb

I'll tell Ya I really do like Felix Jones but I have been watching some Vids on Jonathan Stewart. That guy is a BEAST. I would love for the Cowboys to get their hands on him as well.

Yeah I did Don. That was a great Thread you put together. I appreciate it. I know it took some time to put all those Vids into the thread for all of us to watch. I like your idea of keeping it up to date as things move along as well.

I really liked the Stewart Vid. It really showed his toughness. I love the guy. Felix would be a better fit for us along side of Barber. Barber is already our bruiser out there on the field. We need a Back like Felix Jones that has the speed and the cutting ability he has to change it up when Barber comes out for a breather. I will say if we did not already have Barber on this team I would be all about Stewart Big Time.

Thanks for the vids Don, it makes it really convenient.

Also, i never saw anything on Flowers, that guy is a BEAST! If we dont get Cromartie I'd be fine with getting Flowers if he drops to us, i really really like that guy now.

CowboyzAdam
02-24-2008, 12:28 AM
Yeah Newman I have been big time on Cromartie also. I still love the guy. I am like you though. After watching some tapes on Flowers he is impressive as hell. Did you see that one hit in the Vid that Don put up that he gave that WR? Man he knocked his freakin head off. That is what this backfield of ours needs. A big time lights out type of player just like Roy use to be. We need a guy to put the fear of God into Wr's and TE's who dare come across the field.

02-24-2008, 12:43 AM
For sure. Flowers seemed to play with a lot of attitude and confidence back there. The dude looked cocky as hell too...and i love it! It seems Hamlin and Newman were the only ones playing like that back there last year.

DonCanabis
02-24-2008, 10:52 PM
yeah newman was the one giving the big hits last year what was up with that and I loved it.... I'm glad I'm getting more Flowers followers and not everyone is just going by the usual mock choices.

That's what I hate about the combine because people start get fascinated by the 40's time and sh.t they do with they gear and stop paying attention on what this kids did in college that's why I always check vid of the kids to make my judgement

By the way RUN DMC ran a freakish 4.27 hahahha talking about the 40's

Talib could slip

Kansas CB Aqib Talib, of Richardson Berkner fame, won't fall out of the first round. But I'm having a hard time seeing how he's going to leave Indy atop a lot of teams draft boards at corner.

His 40 time was just good, and in a position drill where he was asked to turn his hips down a straight line, then break on a ball, he looked out of control. Meanwhile, our main man Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie shone in that drill, looking smooth down the line, then high-pointing the ball in the air.

Now, Rodgers-Cromartie represents a risk because of the level he played at collegiately. But if you didn't know better, from watching these drill, you'd probably think DRC was the better prospect. I'm just sayin'.

Man I finally looked at the vid of DRC, I would LOVE to see him line up next to Newman. A corner thats tall, fast, and can hit. I love it. Come on Jerry, make it happen!
