I don't care which order they are picked in, but if the Cowboys get a quality WR, RB, and CB with their first 3 picks, we should all be happy. Luckily for Cowboy fans, this is deep draft for RB and CB, so they should have some good choices. If I were the Cowboys, I would use Carp or Spears to move up in the 2nd round.
What do you think, is Carpenter or Spears worth enough in a trade to move us from the bottom of the 2nd round into the top 5 in the 2nd round?
If so, I think a nice combination of:
1a. Leodis McKelvin CB Troy
1b. Felix Jones RB Arkansas
2. James Hardy WR Indiana

I think carpenter+spears should be enough to get us an extra 2nd round draft pick, IMO. If they were both involved in the trade I wouldn't take anything less.
I would go more for something like this:
1a. Aquib Talib (assuming he's still available)
1b. Trade down into the top 10 in the 2nd round and select Chris Johnson, RB East Carolina
2. Traded to Detroit for WR Roy Williams
This way you're accomplishing the same thing. I would take either McKelvin or Talib, or even Cromartie. Chris Johnson would be an amazing speed back with receiving skills to compliment Marion Barber.
I prefer to trade for Roy Williams of the Lions with our second, though. He is very young still and can contribute 100% from day 1. Nine times out of Ten, a rookie receiver does not contribute very heavily in his first year. Even Calvin Johnson the wonder boy from last year's draft had an extremely dismal season by most people's standards, and they were saying he was the best WR prospect since Randy Moss.
I'm telling ya, I would have a Roy Williams (WR) jersey next week if we made the deal today...and I havent purchased a jersey in almost 10 years. Just haven't found a Cowboy that I'm confident will stick around long enough to merit my $80 :)

From the other thread;
We sign a young CB in Free Agency.
Pick #22 - Reggie Smith - S (Roy Williams eventual replacement).
Pick #28 - Felix Jones - RB (Julius' replacement).
We trade our 2nd Round pick and Marcus Spears to Detroit for Roy Williams...the other Roy Williams.

The only question I have with drafting Reggie Smith would be if he could play cornerback until Roy Williams is gone. We need a cornerback desperately. If he could play corner I would be all for it. But if he's just a safety I wouldn't bother just yet.

He is being portrayed as a CB capable SS after starting out as a CB at Oklahoma.
Smith's All-Big 12 2007 season included 78 tackles, three interceptions and a 61-yard fumble return for a touchdown against Miami.
Smith moved from cornerback and became an all-conference strong safety in 2006. He was a Sporting News Freshman All-American in '05, when he started OU's last nine games at safety.
Smith also returned kicks his last two seasons.
A Good review has him going in the first round and ranked 23rd overall;

Zac.. I am in Okla.. Smith can yes indeed play CB.. I would love to get both the Okla boys in here next year..
Smith CB/S
Kelly WR
I think both would do very well..
Then pick up CJ RB in the second..
I believe all 3 could start for us come season start and allow us to get cheaper depth guys in FA

I am thinking we will not have a shot at Chris Johnson with the 28th pick in the 2nd round. If you want Johnson, we would proably have to snag him with our second pick in the first round. I also think we can do better then DRC in the first round. The guy has nice height, but he has a thin frame and will probably be worked over by NFL receivers. In a Div 1-AA school, height and speed can dominate, but the reason Reeves got abused as much as he did last year is because he had to play off receivers due to a lack of strength and therefore the lack of ability to jam receivers and disrupt their routes. Everyone in the NFL is fast, so his speed is neutralized. You better be able to compete with WR on the line of scrimmage, otherwise, we will have a taller Jacques Reeves.

I like your picks. Super Mario is a Stud WR. But, I would rather trade a 2nd round for Roy Williams..

Kelly will probably be taken by the time we pick. He is probably the new top WR on the board, it seems like he has taken the place of limas sweed, who I think will be amazing if he goes to the right team.

Yeah I guess we won't really know for a while where everyone is going to go for sure. The last month or two has been crazy for WR's. Before the last month happened Limas Sweed was talked about as being the only 1st round WR. Now we have maybe four, and he might not be one of them.

NFLcountdown has us selecting
AQIB TALIB
FELIX JONES
Andre Caldwell
I would take the first two picks and grab Antonie Cason in the second round instead of Caldwell. If Harry Douglas is around in the fourth round I would take him. The man is quick fast and has great agility.
I feel Dallas will get Roy Williams by trading a future second round pick with Carpenter. Nice to see if Dallas could move up in the second round with giving up Spears and there second round with a team like Miami, Denver or Viks. I know the move up part is a dream.

I don't know how things are going to pan out with the possible trades this offseason, but the rumors that people have mention say that Cinci might want Roy and the Lions might want Spears.
