Cowboys Lose: Gameball LVP is...

Roy "$uck @SS" Williams!!
Where was he......making penalities, letting a 3rd string TE get past him or late in the game on the sidelines.......

While Roy had a bad game, it definitely wasnt as bad as Romo's. If Romo played decent we couldve won, Roys miscues didnt cost as much as Romo missing passes and the INTs.

Yeah, but I can't give it to Romo based on a injury. He tried to play through it... Roy has no excuse.

he shoulda stepped out if the injury was gonna effect him that much. It coulda been a different game if there was a healthy QB throwin the ball. Brad Johnson coulda at least hit his targets.

Wade Phillips for not making the change when Romo could not grip the damn football.

The Field General let us all down. Maybe it was defensive schemes, maybe it was the thumb, maybe it was the Blonde Ambition. Who knows?
Hopefully we take our lumps and grow from this.

Romo.
Again, This is a spot Roy Williams doesn't even belong. The defense was not an issue today. The score was 10-6. That means we didn't score a touchdown. That's Tony Romo's area.
On a side note, that second field goal should never have happened. I would have rather lost 10-3 knowing that we went for it on 4th and 2 and at least had a shot.

I say Romo and Jason Garrett. I say JG because we abondoned the running game too soon. We did not get the ball into our playmakers hands, TO and MBIII

This one is the offense bad passes, dropped passes, no run game, gimpy QB. If Romo and the offense would have be on today Roys problems would have taken a different turn. Not to mention the Roy Sucks threads and posts would have been at a minimum

Roy Williams name shouldn't even appear in the voting. How ridiculous to even try and put the lose on him. He was playing linebacker on the long pass at the end of the game and his coverage on the tight end was replaced by a man running underneath. Besides the game was over on the interception that ended our last drive. Tony just wasn't on top of it and we didn't run the ball enough to help him.
I thought our defense kept us in the game all night with great play. It does take a little bit of offense to win.

You live by Tony Romo, you die by Tony Romo.
Romo.

Scooter: I couldn't agree with you more. You took the words right out of my mouth. I think the reason he's even in this voting is to give me a hard time for making a big deal about Haynie making his horse-collar tackle the worst play of the game. It's the good ole "Gang up on the new guy for having an unpopular belief" tactic. :)
I also don't think the O-Line belongs on the voting either, considering any deficiencies they had tonight were largely caused by injury. In fact, Cory Procter was flat out HORRIBLE. If anything, Cory Proctor should be a part of this voting instead of the O-line as a whole.
However, if we were to make a completely unbiased poll, here are what the options would be:
#1. Tony Romo: 3 int's, 2 fumbles I believe
#2. Terrell Owens: 2 catches, but was thrown to more than 10 times. I can't even remember how many drops he had
#3. Jason Garrett: Its his offense, and with the way Romo was playing, the best thing to do would have been to get a rhythm going with the run game, and hope Romo would fall into place. Got to get that run game going.
I should note that those are 3 of my top 5 favorite Cowboys players. But while you have to give credit where credit is due, you've also got to give criticism where criticism is DUE.
Honestly though, can we get some realistic poll options? Heck, leave Roy Williams on there if you want, but at least put the 2 other guys up there that had a huge negative impact in this game. If we're going to make this topic "Pinned" we aught to at least make it realistic.

I was at the game and agree.. Roy shouldnt even be on the list.. he broke off his guys to help out on run support and to help make tackles on WR;s
I got to go Romo or Wade for not making the change at 1/2 time.. if his thumb was that bad..
Brad Johnson was doing alot of throwing when they came back out after 1/2 time.. They knew way early this hand was a problem..

Romo was having a bad game before he hurt his thumb. That shouldn't even be considered as an excuse, but Tony is a great QB and will bounce back at Carolina. The problem being that he lost 6 fantasy football leagues for me, which totals several hundred dollars in possible winnings.

You're telling me BarberForPrez.... I had Tom Brady. And up until yesterday he almost single-handedly carried my team into the playoffs. Only to lose it for me in the first round with his whole 16 points or whatever it was that he scored.

In most leagues he scored no more than 3, count them 3, points. Romo scored -2 for me. The only league I didn't lose in was the one I am in with BSchank where I forgot to draft and ended up with Carson Palmer.

Wow what a let down on Brady and Romo's side for fantasy owners. I didn't even think about how crucial that was to those who have ridden them two to the playoffs. In our league we messed up and don't start our playoffs until next week. (ITS OUR 1st YEAR DOING IT, WE DIDN't TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE RESTING OF PLAYERS DOWN THE STRETCH). But if that were to happen it would have certainly pissed off our Brady fantasy owner because he has been on a high all year long with him.

Zac,
Since it seems I am the only one who voted for Roy as LVP. I can ASSURE you that your reasoning is not why I voted for Roy as LVP.
I will stick by my comment: Roy's play making days are passing him by. He either can't make the play or if he does he gets a 15 yrd penalty...I know that the rule is relatively new..but when left to instincts Roy pulls a horsecollar.
I am not looking to continue to re-hash all the Roy talk, just letting you know my stance. During the lean years of three seasons of 5-11, Roy was one of my favorite players along with Dat....
From standpoint with a team that has to manage a salary cap- Roy's value to paycheck is out of balance. IMHO- we trade him and replace him with a draft choice or low priced vet.

Barber, I hear ya. Three fantasy teams all went into the playoffs with Tony Romo as the QB. Two of my teams lost in the first round due to his play. I want the Cowboys to win first, but with Romo having a bad game on top of a loss... thats just adding insult to injury.

I'm hoping this was Romo's last LVP effort. If form holds true, he'll bounce back with MVP performances during a 5 game winning streak.

b-cadvantage: You know, I honestly can't say much to rebut your opinion. It's not how I feel... I see Roy as being in a slump. I think the NFL rule to ban horse-collar tackling has taken a lot of Roy's appeal away.
But I'll admit that his play has gone down in recent years and he has been in a steady decline as far as making big plays go. I didn't know this, but apparently Roy only makes like $550,000 per year....now that obviously doesn't include bonus and such, but his base salary really isn't anything worth bragging about. I know he charges a lot more on the cap than that, though.
There's a lot of animosity towards him that I don't get. I mean, he is still very sufficient. He makes a lot of tackles for a safety. I know there are a lot of people who think that's a useless stat, and maybe it is when you're as highly paid as Roy is.
My stance is simply that I want him to get better. I see more potential in Roy Williams than I see in all but maybe 1 or 2 strong safeties in the league. He's not living up to it right now, but my ideal situation would involve him stepping up his play and living to his potential like he has in years past.
We'll see what happens. If the Cowboys want to deal him, I will support it. I would love to have the free cap space and just slide Hamlin in his spot and Watkins in the FS spot, or vice versa possibly. But my ideal situation would be to see Roy play to his potential.

What made Roy good was the high motor and motivation he played with.
That has seemed to disappear and is what i blame for his poor play and i wish he could get it back. I would think being on a defense with a bunch of young studs and on a very winning team would do it for him, but its not. He needs to change something because i want the old Roy back and if i cant get that then i dont want this Roy.

I think teams have found out how to get Roy in match ups that they want.. someone in here said a 3rd rate TE... that doesnt even matter.. if the TE is fast.. and runs good routes.. then that is the match up that they want.. Roy isnt all that fast.. I remember reading an article this year that he lost a bit of weight so gain some speed..
The last 2 years teams actually plan on taking Roy out our game plan.. making him cover, and the horse collar rule has really changed the way he plays.. I think all that has to do with his down slide..
I really think he can pull out of this.. he has some bad habits tackling,, but he is a smart guy.. Roy and the coaches will get him through all this and I believe we will see the Roy of old before we every see him traded..

In case ya'll missed it, i put up a thread in the graphics depot of all the .Gif's found here:

thats when Roy played like he knew he was a badass and with reckless abandon.
He needs that back to become "Old Roy" and I want nothing more than that to happen. He's actually still one of my favorite players, but i'm just harsh on him like a father on his son. I want him to succeed really bad and im just disappointed that I haven't seen the Old Roy for a while.
