Long line before Walls for Ring of Honor.

Some folks on this here blog weren't satisfied with Jerry's gracious gesture to make Ron Springs and Everson Walls honorary captains for the season opener. A few of you demanded that Springs and Walls be put in the Ring of Honor.

Cool your jets.

First of all, Springs and Walls were overjoyed by Jerry's invitation. Their Gift For Life Foundation, which promotes organ donor awareness, will get priceless publicity when they flip the coin before the Cowboys-Giants game on Sunday Night Football. They got a wave of publicity when Jerry held a press conference yesterday to announce their honor.

Regarding the Ring of Honor, Springs' solid career does not merit inclusion into that exclusive club. You can make an excellent case for Walls, whose 44 interceptions rank behind only Hall of Famer Mel Renfro in franchise history. But there are a lot of guys who need to go in before Walls is considered.

OOOPPPSS..I forgot to edit his name out of there. I agree. Haley does not nor should not go in as a Cowboy. He played way to short of a time period and you are right...he is a 49er at heart.
