I figured we should start a thread on players from the college level to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

First up on my list is the QB from Maryland, Danny O'brien. Once you get past their retched uniforms you might notice he looks pretty sharp. Good strong and accurate arm and quick recognition of what the defenses are trying to do to him.

Another standout guy IMO is Travaun Nixon, Defensive back from UTEP. Leads the team in tackles and is able to make quick break on passes and seems to be near the ball on most plays.

Call me a homer, but Brandon Boykin. Not only is he a good CB, but he has 3 returns of over 100 yards in his career. He also ran for an 80 yard TD vs Boise St.

Looks like they are giving him a shot on offense as well to take advantage of his speed. Nice kid.

Yeah, thats what I meant when I said he ran for an 80-yard TD. He played offense a lot more against USC.

Danny Coale, WR from Virginia Tech. Reminds me a lot of Wes Welker except he plays on the outside a lot. A real deep threat but also sets really nice blocks on bubble screens...

Likely not available until 2013, but I've really been amazed by Michigan's Denard Robinson. He is carrying that team at quarterback but I doubt he'd play that in the NFL. I see him more as a receiver/kick returner or even running back. Thoughts on him?
