Jerry confronted rookie WR Isaiah Stanback in the locker room before the doors opened to the media and delivered an epic tongue-lashing.
"You know what we pay you for," Jerry said. "It’s to run the ball out of the end zone. This old stuff about putting the knee down – that’s not what you’re supposed to be about."
Actually, Jerry was kidding with his prized fourth-round pick about the kickoff, but betcha I got your attention. Jerry was very pleased with the WR project's first game action after Stanback caught two passes for 30 yards and a TD.
"We were anxious to get him out here, have him handle the ball and see what he could do," Jerry said. "That was a real good route he ran, a real good catch. We know his athletic ability. We’ve just got to continue to figure out ways to get him the ball."
Had a nice chat with Stanback that I'll tell you about later.
